Update Galaxy Ace S5830 to Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 BUKT3 Firmware

We’ve already used various official firmware to update your Galaxy Ace S5830 to different Android OS versions.

Today we have yet another example: BUKT3. With this one we plan on upgrading your handset to Gingerbread 2.3.6 operating system.

Requirements

Requirements to follow through:

In case your notebook or PC does not have Windows, you can download CrossOver Utility on it (but only if your device has either Linux or Mac running on it).Galaxy-Ace-GT-S5830

After these pre-requisites, you must update your phone with the steps described in the next paragraphs.

How to flash BUKT3 on Galaxy Ace

  1. Find an unzipping tool to use on the two zip files from earlier. After they are both extracted on your laptop, you will be left with some files; keep an eye out for .tar.md5 and for Odin tool v3.07.exe.
  2. Power your Galaxy Ace S5830 off. Enter the latter in Download Mode; here’s how: press and hold, simultaneously, Home, Volume Down and Power. Press Volume Up to finalize this process (do this only after you’ve seen the logo of Google’s Android).
  3. Then run the Odin tool v3.07.exe as Admin by following these instructions: right-click on odin.exe; now tap Run as administrator from the phone’s Context Menu.
  4. Your smartphone comes with a USB cord; you must use it to plug the handset to your notebook, then wait until you are delivered the following on the display: a yellow COM port number and a message which says “Added!!“.
  5. When one or both of these signs does not appear on the screen, the connection was not completed; to repair this, you have to either re-install the USB drivers on the PC or simply try and use a different USB port. If you don’t encounter such a case, then move forward to the next tasks.
  6. The first of which tells you this: click on “PDA“, opt for a CODE file, then tap “Phone” and choose a file with a MODEM in the name. Now tap “CSC“, opt for a file which comes with CSC in the name and after that tap “PIT” to choose a .pit file afterwards.
  7. Then stick around in Odin where you will have to do the following: check Re-partition (only if the file with the .pit extension was selected earlier), F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot.
  8. Then prepare to be a witness to the flashing of the update firmware. Which is going to happen after you tap this key: “Start“. The installation is not going to take a whole chunk of your time, so wait for it to end.
  9. [sc name=”banner-jos”]After the file has been flashed on your Samsung GT-S5830, the latter is going to reboot. After it’s done with that, it shall display “Pass” along with this: a background painted green. This is when you should disconnect the smartphone from your notebook and then have a go at the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread BUKT3 firmware; hint: you will discover this in the “About phone” section.

NOTE: How about your handset remains completely stuck in the logo of its manufacturer? No worries, that is easy to solve by taking a look at these crucial guidelines: enter the Recovery Mode, opt for Factory Reset/Wipe Data and for Wipe Cache Partition.

Restart your Galaxy Ace S5830 via “Restart” option after those two wiping tasks have been performed.
