Install ZMUAMI2 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Official Firmware on Galaxy Note 2 N7108D
Galaxy Note 2 N7108D (Chinese version) is going to jump right back into Android 4.2.2 operating system once you follow today’s tutorial.
The firmware which is going to help along the way goes by the name of ZMUAMI2 and it’s not an illegal or dangerous one to get on your device. The firmware will land on the Galaxy Note 2 N7108D either automatically via a notification message or if you decide to acquire it manually. If you want the latter option, then follow the steps in this guide.
Requirements
Before we can actually get to them, we have to give you these few pre-requisites beforehand:
- create backups (or one, depending on how you like to save the content on your smartphone);
- make a NANDroid backup as well, via this tutorial;
- find USB drivers for your phablet and then flash them on your laptop (or computer);
- don’t install a custom recovery image on your handset if it’s not there;
- charge the battery inside your handset;
- download Odin tool v3.07 from here and the on your laptop.
Instructions
After you complete what we told you to do in the previous paragraph, you should proceed to the actual update guide.
- Which begins with this first step: once the new official firmware is downloaded, you have to extract it with the right tool, then enter the handset in Download Mode.
- The Download Mode should be achieved like this: first make sure the device is powered off, then remember to simultaneously press + hold Volume Down and Home and after that press only Power until the mode is entered into.
- The second step you must follow tells you to launch, on the laptop, the Odin and then plug your Samsung GT-N7108 to the latter; when the Odin shows a “Added!!” message along with an ID:COM box port in yellow, you will see that the devices were connected to one another at last.
- When neither of the message or the box appears on the screen, you can opt for one of the following solutions: either use a different kind of USB port or try installing the USB drivers one more time till the connection is achieved. But if everything went smoothly, you can move on to the next step of this tutorial.
- Which sounds like this: opt for the upgrade firmware (file name: N7108DZMUAMI2_N7108DCHMAMI2_CHM.zip), then continue by tapping “PDA”. After that be sure you do the following: opt for a file that comes with “CODE” in the name, then click on “Phone” and then go for the file which has MODEM” in the name.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]Now don’t forget to tap “CSC”, opt for a “CSC” file, move on by clicking on “PIT” and finish by choosing a .pit file. After you make sure all of the previous options, buttons and such were selected, pressed and so on, you can go to the next step.
- This one will need this from you: check the boxes labelled as F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and Repartition; the last of them should only be chosen if you opted for the file with the .pit extension in its name.
- Then tap “START” so that the installation of the new firmware can finally begin. Wait a bit; the phone should reboot after the correct file is on it.
Your Galaxy Note 2 N7108D is currently upgraded to the ZMUAMI2 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 firmware which sits comfortably waiting for you in your device’s “About Phone” (which can be accessed if you tap “Settings“).
