Root Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 on XXUBMF8 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Official Firmware

Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 has many fans all over the world. So, in case you own it and have already upgraded it to Android 4.2.2 build XXUBMF8 official firmware with our guide, you can root it soon after using CF-Auto-Root. In other words: if you haven’t updated this device with one of our tutorials, don’t root it with the steps shown in this post.

Requirements

Likewise, you will have to consider the very important requirements shown below:

  • use the model that sports an Exynos 5 octa-core processor;
  • make backups via this guide;
  • use the Galaxy S4 I9500 which is factory unlocked and is powered by the XXUBMF8 firmware;
  • enable an option which is known under the name of USB Debugging;
  • flash the USB drivers meant for your phone on your notebook;
  • have the battery unit charged to its max.Samsung-Galaxy-S4-I9500

Instructions

  1. The guide planned for today has to start with you downloading (file name: CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500.zip) and Odin tool v1.85 on your laptop.
  2. Unzip only the first package on the same device, then have the handset powered off so that the latter can be booted into Download Mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the keys called Volume Down and Home; after that be sure to press Power as soon as Android’s usual logo is on the display, then press Power one more time to make sure the phone is in the Download Mode.
  3. Now launch Odin on the notebook and plug the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 to it with the phone’s USB cable. Then you have to wait and see if the connection went well; if you don’t spot “Added!!” or a yellow ID:COM box, you need to employ a different USB port or flash, again, the USB Drivers.
  4. Continue the guide by accomplishing the following tasks: look for PDA and tap it, then opt for Autoroot archive and select F. Reset Time along with Auto Reboot (you need to be in Odin to do this).
  5. Then, while still in Odin, you will be asked to do this: tap START; the firmware required for the rooting of your phone shall begin shortly. After you waited for no more than 5 minutes, you have to check the handset: if it reboots into Recovery Mode and flashes the package which is needed for its rooting, then everything is fine; also, one of the ID:COM boxes should become green to show the installation was successful.
  6. Once the device has the necessary file on it, it should display the home screen. After you see it do exactly that, it is recommended to disconnect the Galaxy S4 I9500 from your PC and observe your freshly rooted smartphone.

NOTE: What can you do if you are unsure whether your handset is rooted or not? You can download Root Checker and verify with its help. Or you can equally verify by looking, in your phone’s app drawer, for an app called SuperSU; if you see it, then the device is rooted. If it’s not there, you have to re-do the tutorial until it pops out in that place.

If the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 shows no sign of wanting to boot into the Recovery Mode, you should repeat the guide. If the smartphone remains unrooted, re-do our tutorial; however, this time you should deselect Auto Reboot if this option is checked, then perform the following steps once the rooting firmware is on the handset: switch the smartphone off, switch it on after that, boot it into Recovery Mode and wait for the rooting to happen.
