For the next half an hour or less, you should follow the steps below if you don’t want to experience a disastrous update.LG-Optimus-L9-P760

Guide: Flash CyanogenMod 10.2 on Optimus L9

  1. Download Google Apps from this page and afterwards on the notebook on your desk.
  2. Plug the smartphone to the latter device, move the zip files from it to the latter’s SD card root and then unplug the first device from the second one.
  3. Switch the Optimus L9 P760 off. To see it boot into Recovery Mode, you have to press + hold, at the same time, Volume Down and Power. Don’t go away from the Recovery because you will be asked to do this: opt for certain options which are about to wipe the system of your handset.
  4. The first task to start all of the above is this one: make sure you opt for “Factory Reset/Wipe Data“. After you confirm this, you should perform the second wiping task; for this, you need to be in the Recovery Menu again and choose “Wipe Cache Partition” from it. Then, when done with the confirmation of this action, you should go to “Advance” and opt for “Wipe Dalvik Cache“; confirm.
  5. After doing all of these tasks, you need to choose “Install zip from SD card“. Follow this up with the selection of “Choose zip from SD card” and then opt for the Jelly Bean 4.3 CM10.2 .zip archive using “Power“; then confirm.
  6. After the flashing begins, it should take a couple of minutes for it to end. When the process is over, you need to get the Google Apps package flashed just like you installed the previous zip file; so use the same steps you used for that one and, after the two are on your phone, you have to be back in the phone’s Recovery Menu.
  7. That’s the place you should go so as to do the following: opt for the phone’s restart. Your LG Optimus L9 P760 is going to boot in the next few minutes.
  8. Keep track of that and, at the end of the process, saunter off to your device’s “About Phone” to check up on the CM10.2 Nightly ROM based on the popular Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

NOTE: Should the phone get stuck in the LG logo, then it’s time to operate the following: “Wipe Cache Partition” and then “Wipe Dalvik Cache“. Restart the handset after that. But if you chance across “Status 7 error“, you need to flash a related kernel on the phone and afterwards the actual ROM featured in our tutorial.

If the new ROM leaves a bad impression on you, you can return to the default ROM the phone had on it before. That is easy to do: boot the handset into Recovery first.

Then choose “Backup&Restore“. Search for your firmware on the display; it should appear inside a list. Then opt for the ROM and that’s that, you will have it back on your LG Optimus L9!
