Update Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210 to Android 4.2.2 XXUAMK8 Stock Firmware

Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210 is the perfect candidate for XXUAMK8, the official firmware which we’ll update your tablet with. So be sure to read all about the ways to upgrade your gadget!

August 2013 was the date when your tablet was released. Then in December the following happened: the new firmware was launched for Luxembourg, Spain, UK, Finland, Romania, Germany, Netherlands and Italy. All of you folks will be able to get the update if your Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5210 runs a custom ROM. Don’t use a model that is not this one, because you will end up bricking your device.

The new features of the Android 4.2.2 XXUAMK8 are these: new sounds for wireless charging and low battery, USB debug white-list, new Gallery app which delivers faster speeds when loading, new download notifications, long-pressing the WiFi and Bluetooth icons in Quick Settings will toggle the on/off state, bug fixes and fixed Bluetooth audio streaming bugs.

If you opt for KIES software to update your tablet, you can, since the firmware has its KIES logo activated. You can always upgrade your tablet with OTA in case you don’t select our guide.

You will have an updated tablet at the end of this tutorial, but if it’s rooted, the system partition will be deleted and the root access revoked. All of the important content of your gadget won’t be erased and the internal/external SD cards are going to still hold on to your Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210.Galaxy-Tab-3-10.1-P5210

Requirements

The new firmware requires the following preparations first:

  • turn on USB Debugging on your tablet;
  • flash USB drivers fit for the Galaxy S2 Plus from here on your laptop;
  • grab a hold of the tablet’s USB cord for the rest of the guide;
  • charge the battery of your tablet;
  • make backups (a standard and a full NANDroid backup);
  • your notebook or PC must run Windows;
  • turn off the security programs installed on both the tablet and the laptop them.

Instructions

  1. All of you wishing to learn how to update their tablet to the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 should begin the guide by performing these tasks: after Odin and the new XXUAMK8 stock firmware (download the Luxembourg version from , the Spain version from , the UK version from , the Finland version , the Romania version from , the Germany version from , the Netherlands file and the Italy version from ) and then Odin from here on the laptop, after which we advise you to extract them.
  2. Once the latter is performed, your next concern should be this one: boot the tablet in Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down and Power simultaneously, wait for Android’s logo to show its face, then press Volume Up instead.
  3. We now need you to open the Odin as Admin on the laptop and then do this: plug the tablet to your notebook by using the USB cord of the gadget. As soon as there is a connection established between the two, you will see an “Added!!” message and then a yellow ID:COM, which means that everything’s alright.
  4. If the connection takes to long to happen or doesn’t happen at all, we invite you to do this: go to where you have the USB drivers saved and install them again or use another USB port.
  5. When the plugging has happened at long last, then you should click on PDA, opt for a file with a CODE in its name, tap Phone, opt for a file with MODEM in the name, click on CSC, choose a file which has CSC in its name, tap PIT and after that opt for a file that should sport a .pit extension.
  6. Then do as follows: activate F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and then Re-partition. Look around until you see “Start“ and be sure to tap it.
  7. [sc name=”banner-jos”]The update tool will begin to flash itself on your Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 GT-P5210, so give it some time. When the end of the flashing is near, the tablet will reboot.
  8. When it has, on the screen, a “Pass” message in green, you will have to unplug the devices from each other and then tap Settings; from there, look for About Tablet and the new Android 4.2.2 firmware will be ready for a launch.

If it’s not at all to your liking, then maybe you should restore the previous one on your tablet by using the NANDroid backup file. The update process will be revoked as a consequence.

    Choosing Re-Partition will brick your device.
