How to Root Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500

Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 (International version) comes with many specs that make it perform beyond expectations. One of them: its Exynos processor.

The guide we will introduce you to will help you root this smartphone in a couple of very easy to use steps when you get down to them below.

Requirements

So, one of the main requirements before you root your handset: make sure it’s the model that comes with Exynos instead of Snapdragon. Other very important pre-requisites to attend to: charge the battery of your phone, make a backup using our guide, install the appropriate USB Drivers for it on your laptop (with Samsung KIES) and turn on USB debugging if it is disabled.

If you run into any sort of trouble, just repeat our guide several times until you get the GT-I9500 rooted for sure.samsung-galaxy-s4-GT-I9500

Now we will proceed to the steps that are going to make your Galaxy S4 pass through the entire process with flying colors.

Important instructions

  1. For step number one we have the following tasks in mind: open your notebook and on your laptop. This sort of archive comes with Odin tool v3 and the necessary .tar files.
  2. After you are done with this action, you need to make sure that you have flashed the USB Drivers we mentioned earlier, then proceed to the second step which tells you to enter the smartphone into Download Mode by first powering the handset off and then pressing + holding Volume Down, Home and Power at the same time; now let go of Power when the device’s display appears and let go of all three keys once the Download Mode has been reached.
  3. Step three follows next and it urges you to do as follows: plug the Galaxy S4 to the PC you normally use, then have patience till the devices are well connected to one another and afterwards unzip, to a folder, the first file you had to download on your notebook.
  4. Launch that folder, then launch the Odin tool. From what we saw, Odin v1.85 is also good for this tutorial.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Once you complete the previous step, the fifth one will need you to click on PDA and opt for the cofface_I9500-cwm-recovery_en_new.tar (that is in the folder we mentioned). After doing that, you have to make sure that F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot are activated.
  6. Step six will then tell you to press Start, wait for the installation of the needed firmware to begin and then for PASS to be on the display.
  7. Your Galaxy S4 I9500 is going to reboot all on its own. It is now appropriate to power the smartphone off.
  8. Boot it into Recovery and choose the option called Root your phone. The handset will, in a couple of seconds, reboot and it will be rooted. If you want to unroot the phone, you can use this dedicated tutorial.
