Verizon Galaxy S4 to run on AWS LTE network
Verizon Wireless have long planned to launch a smartphone on their AWS LTE network upgrade. And they selected Samsung’s Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 for the job.
The AWS LTE is an improved network when it comes to data speed. Verizon Wireless promise that data speeds will be so much more powerful than on their current network. The Galaxy S4 was deemed the perfect candidate to test that out. So, if you go for this network and this handset, you will see, according to Verizon Wireless, double the Internet speed that you can experience on their regular network.
The carrier decided to opt for this particular smartphone thanks to its components. At least that’s what the vice-president of Verizon Wireless reports. According to him, the sole things the device needs to initiate a connection to the frequency of the AWS network is this: software update. The first city to experience the service will be New York. And that should happen in the upcoming months.
The carrier has announced that they would not limit their smartphone choice to the Galaxy S4 model. They plan on opting for several other gadgets in the not too faraway future.

The decision to come with an upgraded network lies in the fact that there is more and more traffic nowadays. The vice-president of Verizon Wireless thinks that LTE traffic alone could increase by 7 times by 2016. As such, they are using AWS network to cater to current needs.
The Galaxy S4 (Verizon version) can be bought for $199.99 after you sign a 2-year contract with the carrier. According to recent reports, the smartphone has already been shipped to customers worldwide in the following number: 10 million units. Which is more than what the previous model saw. The S4 is a phone that the South Korean manufacturer wants to see become more popular in the U.S. than the iPhone 5.
