How to Update Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562C to Android 4.1.2 ZNUANB1
The Chinese version of Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562C needed to be updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.2. What better firmware to use for this procedure than ZNUANB1?
The most recent firmware to use on your Galaxy S Duos came out this month. It’s meant only for China and only for this particular smartphone version. Don’t go using another handset, you will be left with a damaged device if you do.
KIES cannot be used for the update to the Android 4.1.2 JB. Only OTA or our guide work. For the OTA variant, your smartphone must be running stock ROM. If you go with our method, your device doesn’t have to sport that ROM.
Once you decide to upgrade a rooted Samsung GT-S7562C, be prepared for some consequences. The main two ones: your phone will immediately lose root access and its system partition will face deletion soon after. There will be no damage done to the internal and external SD cards and the important data will not be erased.
We’ve saved the best for last. This includes the novelties that come with an update. After you’re done with the guide, your device will sport sync and connect email updates, pop up play and triple buffering. Then you will get to play with group cast, mini apps, touch anticipation and a fixed frame of 60 fps. Automatic adjustment for the size of widgets, Google Now, extended Vsync timing and a free style widget will also be delivered with the update. All share and a new keyboard are the last two novelties you should look forward to. No bugs is an added bonus!
Prerequisites
Here is the list of requirements we compiled for you:
- use a notebook that features Windows;
- turn on USB Debugging on the phone;
- charge the battery inside your Galaxy S Duos S7562C;
- turn off your handset’s and the notebook’s security software;
- the laptop needs USB drivers compatible with your phone, so download them on it from this site;
- make backups (one should be a regular one and the other a full NANDroid one).
Step by step instructions
Once the full set of pre-requisites is taken care of, you can start the process of updating your phone to the latest version of Android.
- Which process must begin thus: , then download it on your laptop. Odin v3.09 is the second file that must be located here and downloaded on the same device as earlier.
- After you’re finished with the download, the two packages must be unzipped. We suggest making use of one of these tools: 7Zip or WinRar.
- At the end of the process, do this: enter the smartphone in Download Mode by pressing and holding Home, Power and Volume Down together, see if a boot message shows up, and, after it appears, press only Volume Up.
- If the Download Mode is successfully achieved, you should plug the Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562C to your notebook. To enable a connection, the handset’s USB cable should be used. Then give the plugging some minutes to end.
- The waiting will be over as soon as you are greeted, in Odin, by a sign turning blue. This will allow you to move on to this step: add the firmware file to AP / PDA, then make sure you activate a bunch of options that have F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot next to them. If you look around and see that Re-partition is ticked, go ahead and deactivate this box.
- The next step will ask you to do the following: tap “Start” to begin the firmware’s flashing on your Galaxy S Duos GT-S7562C. The moment this installation is finished, the handset is going to have a “Pass” message appear in a completely green background.
- The second your smartphone restarts on its own, that’s the moment you should do this: remove, from your smartphone, the USB cord which connected it to your notebook.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]The unplugging being over, you can tap the following options on your device one after the other: Settings and About Phone in this order. Then, after the second option is chosen, click on the new firmware and play with it for a while until you know if it’s great or not.
If it’s disappointing, the ZNUANB1 can be removed and the old ROM can be restored. The NANDroid backup will serve for this purpose. By the time the previous ROM will have returned, the update will have been revoked, too.
