Update Galaxy Camera EK-KC120S with KSAMD2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware

Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-KC120S proves that it can be updated to KSAMD2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 official firmware with some simple steps as shown in today’s tutorial.

Requirements

We will first start with the following requirements: turn on USB debugging, use the carrier and bootloader unlocked model, check the camera’s battery and charge it if it needs you to and create backups using our guides (a backup of the content of the camera’s memory is a good idea, too). You should also use a computer with Windows (or install CrossOver Utility if you work with either Mac or Linux) and install USB drivers for the Camera KC120S on your laptop.

Important instructions

  1. Download, for step one, the following files on your PC: and Odin tool.
  2. Extract, for step number two, what each of these files contains and make sure your desktop has these files (among many others): .tar.md5 and Odin tool 3.07.exe. Switch the cam off before you boot it into Download Mode; do it like this: simultaneously press + hold Camera, Volume Up and Power and soon Android’s logo will appear; press Volume Up to enter the mode.galaxy-camera-EK-KC120S
  3. Step three will need you to run the Odin tool 3.07.exe as Admin by using the right click method on the odin tool file and then click on “Run as administrator” as soon as you’re in the context menu.
  4. Plug the camera to the comp and choose the files you will see in a couple of seconds. But, to choose them, you will have to click on certain keys. Here:
    – click on PDA and opt for a file with CODE in its name;
    – click on Camera and choose the file with MODEM in its name;
    – click on CSC and select the file with CSC in its name;
    – click on PIT and opt for .pit file.
    No sweat if not even one of the files above is on the camera’s display. Concentrate on activation the boxes called F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. Repartition needs to be check marked only in case you opted for the .pit file.
  5. The installation of the update firmware is going to begin as soon as you tap Start for step number five.
  6. Step number six is now in order and it tells you to wait until the Galaxy Camera EK-KC120S starts to go into an automatic reboot.
  7. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step seven will then need you to look for the message that announces you to disconnect the camera from the notebook; this message sounds like this: PASS (and there will be a green background to accompany it as well). After unplugging the two devices from one another, our tutorial will be complete and your KC120S will sport the Android 4.1.2 JB. The firmware we used is in its “About phone” section.

The device in your possession may annoy you at some point with a starting animation that it can’t get out of. To help the camera do away with it, you should go to Recovery Mode first; then perform these two tasks: Factory reset/Wipe data and then Wipe cache partition. When done, choose the system restarting option.
