Underwriters Laboratories gives Samsung Galaxy S4 Platinum certification

Samsung Galaxy S4 was recently awarded, by Underwriters Laboratory, Platinum certification. Which means that the smartphone has a positive impact on the environment.To make it more clear: this phone has a charger that consumes the least amount of energy (in standby) out of all the chargers available on nowadays’ smartphones.

The Platinum certification is the most important award a gadget can receive. Mind you, it is not the same as UL client safety labels used on products these days.

The Galaxy S4 is not the only phone made by the South Korean manufacturer to receive such a certification. The Galaxy Note 2 and the S3 also earned certifications from the Underwriters Laboratory environmental section. Not only is the charger of the S4 able to consume as little energy as possible, Samsung also uses ink made of soy for its user’s manuals. More than that: the box this smartphone will arrive in contains materials that are fully recycled.
