Report: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to have new Materials and Design
Galaxy Note 3 is going to sport new looks, according to a report publicized by SamMobile. The latter say that Samsung will replace the plastic that was on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with a more durable material. Which is none other than a sort of metal (details on exactly what type of metal are still to come).
Until more is known on the matter, here are the specs of the upcoming Galaxy Note 3: a 6-inch FHD Amoled touchscreen, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, an Exynos 5 octa-core CPU and a cam with 13 megapixels in store. LTE will also be available.
This decision to change the material comes after the South Korean manufacturer got wind of the success of rival HTC. The latter has a smartphone, called One, that is entirely made of aluminum. This material is way more solid than the usual plastic you see on many phones out there.
Not only does metal provide better damage control if the gadget is dropped, it also looks better than plastic.

Which is why, according to SamMobile, Samsung is keen on switching to a new design. The company is also said to have discarded the idea of making the Galaxy Note 3 similar in looks to the Galaxy S4. But the reason behind this decision is rumored to be the fact that the manufacturer couldn’t find the necessary time to produce and implement it on this new gadget of theirs.
Apart from reporting that the Galaxy Note 3 will be made of metal, people from SamMobile don’t know the type of metal that will be used.
When should we expect to see this brand new device unveiled for the first time? Here’s the answer: during the annual IFA event which is going to take place in the second half of 2013. It may seem long, but at least we will know what more to expect from the device.
