Root Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 on XXEMD3 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware

For now, though, charge the battery of the smartphone, flash USB drivers for it on your laptop, choose the carrier and factory unlocked model, turn on USB debugging and make backups via our guides. After the handset is finally rooted, its warranty will make a run for it. To get it back, it is advisable to do the following: unroot the phone.
How to root I9300 on XXEMD3
- Start the rooting procedure by on your notebook and then quickly unzipping it with a special tool. There will be many files inside it, but the most important one to use is the one which has .tar.md5 in it.
- Download Odin tool after that on the laptop, unzip it as well and you should come across a file named Odin3 v3.07.exe. The phone will need to be powered off.
- After you take it to that state, you should boot it into Download Mode; for this purpose, press and hold Volume Down and Home simultaneously and after that press Power. The handset will reach the Download Mode when you see the logo of Android together with a triangle, which means that you need to press Power again to complete the task.
- Go to the Odin3 v3.07.exe and launch it as Admin, then plug the smartphone to your notebook. If you see “Added!!”, an ID:COM box becoming yellow and a number (the COM port) appearing on the display, you will know that the devices are connected to each other. In case something bad happens, you should flash the USB Drivers one more time; or you could use a different USB port. Stay where you are and tap on PDA.
- Now opt for the CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5 file and change the settings of the Odin tool.
- What you have to do next is this: choose F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. If the Re-partition box is unchecked, leave it like that, then click START. The zip file needed for the procedure here will commence in a couple of seconds. At the end of this phase, the Galaxy S3 I9300 is going to reboot into the Recovery Mode.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]The flashing of the root archive will go well if the ID:COM box becomes green. As soon as the Home screen pops on your handset, you are given permission to disconnect the phone from the notebook.
Your Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 is now rooted. If you’re not convinced, you should go to the phone’s app drawer and then locate SuperSU. If you find it, the rooting happened. If you want to be even more convinced, flash an app called and use it on your smartphone (the app is in Google Play Store).
NOTE: The I9300 may decide to refuse to boot into the Recovery Mode. What to do then? Easy: repeat the guide until it does. Or you can repeat it and deselect the Auto Reboot box.
After that, make sure you go to the part where we wrote “At the end of this phase, the Galazy (…) becomes green” and do the following after you perform that: take the battery out of the handset and then boot it into the Recovery mode the way we already indicated. Once you do that, the rooting will happen.
