Install XXCMD2 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OTA Firmware on Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000

You don’t have to worry about updating your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 to Android 4.1.2. XXCMD2 is the tool that does all the hard work. You will only need to follow this tutorial and the requirements as well as the steps in it.

Requirements

The pre-requisites look like this: use only Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000, charge its battery, use the tablet model that comes factory unlocked, flash USB drivers for this variant on your notebook, turn on USB debugging, make backups and turn off the programs that protect your laptop and your tablet from viruses and other such threats. If you are familiar with an app called ODIN, then you’ll know how to apply the steps in our guide; if you are a beginner, get the help of a pro.

Instructions

  1. The guide starts now. You need to download the following on your laptop:
    – ;
    – Odin tool.
  2. When you are done, you have to save both of them on the notebook and then extract their content. The first zip file will contain, among others, a file called N8000 XXCMD2_N8000MOTCME1_MOT.tar.md5. The other zip file will give you Odin3 v3.07.exe.
  3. Switch the tablet off now and then boot it into Download Mode by performing the following action: press and hold, simultaneously, Volume Down and Power and, when the display of the gadget shows the Android logo, you need to stop pressing and holding those keys; instead, press Volume Up.
  4. Open the Odin 3.07.exe on your laptop as Admin, then plug the tablet to the notebook. Next thing to concentrate on: wait for “Added!!” and an ID:COM box to turn yellow; when you see they don’t, you have to flash the USB Drivers one more time or just use another USB port.
  5. Then click on PDA and load the OTA .tar.md5 file. Look for an option called Re-partition; if it is turned on, turn it off and then press START. The installation of the XXCMD2 will soon debut, so wait until that’s over.

Go to your Google account after that; next up, you should enter your personal details there. If you are unsure whether or not the firmware is on your tablet, go to the gadget’s “About tablet” section. If the XXCMD2 is in that location, everything went well.

NOTE: In case the Odin app tells you the flashing is over but the Note 10.1 N8000 is stuck in the manufacturer’s logo instead, you need to do as follows: turn the tablet off, boot it into the Recovery Mode again, opt for Factory Reset and wait for the gadget to reboot in Normal Mode. If the XXCMD2 has not been flashed at all, though, you should go to the beginning of our guide and repeat all the steps until the process is successful.
