How to Install KitKat 4.4.2 JVU1ANC9 on Galaxy S5 SM-G900FQ
For upgrading your Galaxy S5 SM-G900FQ to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, we recommend using the most recent firmware to have been released for it. Its name will be displayed in our upcoming post!
Turkish owners of the Galaxy S5 SM-G900FQ will be pleased to know that their device will get in touch with KitKat 4.4.2 JVU1ANC9. Without this firmware, the phone will miss out on numerous opportunities. And without the right model, the latter will also not be possible. So stick with the device we mentioned, because another one will get bricked if upgraded with this post.
The release date of the latest firmware is this month. Like we said, Turkey is the only country chosen, so far, for the launch of this official firmware. The only carrier which is compatible with it is La Fleur. To use a different update method, such as OTA, your device must run stock ROM. You won’t be able to use KIES because the logo isn’t turned on.
There’s no way your smartphone will remain unaffected by the update if it’s already rooted. The root access shall be revoked and the system partition of your Samsung SM-G900FQ will be deleted. Nothing of the kind will happen to the important content or the phone’s internal / external SD cards.
With the KitKat on your handset, you won’t encounter battery life issues, bad performance or other negative stuff. Instead, the upgrade will be responsible for your device’s improvement in all sorts of ways. Also, you will get to install many new apps, customize the smartphone, enjoy new features and much more. You won’t be troubled by security threats, either.
Prerequisites
The sort of pre-requisites you need to take into consideration now tell you to:
- the upgrade must be performed with the help of a Windows-running laptop;
- make a full NANDroid backup using these steps;
- the tablet’s security programs need to be disabled;
- a full recharge of the tablet’s battery needs to be performed;
- the security programs running on the laptop must be turned off;
- create many backups for the gadget’s data;
- USB drivers for your tablet must be downloaded on the laptop;
- USB Debugging has to be turned on on the Galaxy S5 SM-G900FQ.
Step by step instructions
- The KitKat 4.2.2 JVU1ANC9 official firmware is the first package to be downloaded on your notebook. Make sure it’s . Download, next, Odin v3.09 on the previous device and unzip both of the packages with 7Zip or WinRar.
- Now search for Odin v3.09.exe after you’re done with the unzipping of the two on the laptop. Open this file on the latter for the next part of our guide, then boot the phone in Download Mode. This has to be done in order to complete this step: simultaneously press and hold Home, Power and Volume Down, stop as soon as a boot message is shown on the display, then press Volume Up.
- You are now advised to plug the smartphone to your laptop. In case you don’t know how to proceed, make sure you use the USB cable of your handset. Then allow some minutes until you spot Odin welcoming you with a blue sign, meaning that a connection has just been established between your devices.
- After this step, another one will come and you will be required to do as such: add the firmware file to AP / PDA, after which you should activate some boxes and leave another one unchecked. The ones to be checked are F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. The box that needs to be ticked off is Re-partition.
- Separating you and your handset from the Android 4.4.2 JVU1ANC9 is one small step. You have to complete it by tapping “Start“. A couple of minutes should now pass between the start of the firmware’s installation and its flashing.
- After some 15 minutes are over, the handset is going to announce the end of the flashing. So check out the following signs: the phone will restart after it shows up with a “Pass” message.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]As soon as the installation is all done, unplug the two products from one another and start using the new addition to your device by tapping Settings and About Phone.
When you stop liking the new firmware or you want the old one back, your best bet is the NANDroid backup file. It will, apart from getting the old ROM back, revoke the upgrade.
