Requirements
We mentioned “requirements”. Here they are: , make backups and get ADB on the laptop. When the warranty is no more, you should unroot the Optimus Pro C660. We provided a tutorial on how to do that.
Once you’ve found out what the pre-requisites are all about, then head over to our guide on how to root the smartphone.
Important instructions
- Start the tutorial by following the first step. Which proposes you to move the the SuperOneClick file, once downloaded, on the computer’s desktop. Another action which is required tells you to extract the archive’s content to the same desktop, then go to the handset’s Menu.
- Once in that location, tap on Settings, choose Privacy and select Factory Reset/Wipe data.
- At the end of this step you will have to plug the Pro C660 to the laptop and continue with the third step prompting you to launch a Command Line Window; where: in the folder containing the ADB (more precisely: the C:/drive on the computer). In order to launch that window, do as follows: select the button labelled Shift, then use the mouse and right-click on the display and click on Open command here.
- For step number four you need to enter, into the Command Line Window, these three commands:
adb devices
adb shell
acho 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
[sc name=”banner-jos”]
Remember to hit Enter after every line that you have to type in. Next you should double-click on the SuperOneClick file; after the latter opens, you need to look for a dropdown menu (it will appear on the display). - From it, opt for psneuter and then tap on Root in the tool.
- The Pro C660 will go into a rooting process.
- Step seven, the last one, requires you to have patience till a confirmation message comes on the screen at the end of the procedure. As soon as you see it, you will know that the rooting went as scheduled.
But, to be extra sure of that, go and look for an app called Superuser (you’ll find it in the phone’s App Drawer).
