Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 official release date announced
The date of Acer’s Iconia W700 official release has finally been announced.
Prepare yourselves for not one, but 3 new tablets made by Acer. One of them is the Iconia W700. The date it is released on is the same one that Microsoft chose for its Windows 8 operating system to be revealed.
So we know when the Iconia W700 will become available. What about its specifications? We know how they look, too. This tablet will feature the following: a 11.6″ IPS touchscreen, a Core i3 or Core i5 Ivy Bridge chip, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels of resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64 to 128GB of storage space, a 5MP cam on the back (can shoot content in 1080p), a second cam of 1MP 720p on the front and a battery that, according to the manufacturer, offers a total of 7 hours till it dies.
Features include a Bluetooth keyboard. The box will come with a cradle; its role is to offer support for a total of 3 USB 3.0 ports. Something else that you are offered is 1 HDMI-to-VGA connector.
So, if you want a piece of the brand new Acer Iconia W700, you can get it from the 26th October. There are several types of configurations that you can choose from once you decide on this tablet. The most expensive option is the one which sports 4GB of RAM, a Core i3 CPU and 128GB Solid State Drive. All of this costs a whopping $1,000.

Then there’s a version which, from its price point of view, sits in the middle; this model has shares an identical space storage and RAM. Only the processor is different: Core i5. It has a $900 price tag. Last but not least there’s the $800 configuration option. Which means the following specs: 64GB Solid State Drive, 4GB of RAM and a Core i3 processor.
Even if you do get competitive specs for the Acer Iconia W700, the truth of the matter is that this tablet is quite an expensive one. Apple’s iPad is way cheaper than this model: it costs $500. But what the latter does not have is a dedicated operation system. And, at the end of the day, people are going to prefer this tablet over the Apple one. Simply because it is, from reports written by those who have already tested it, a gadget that offers great quality.
These being said, don’t forget to order an Acer Iconia W700, if interested, from the 26th of October onwards. And be sure to have $799-$999 to pay for it.
