Verizon LG Intuition vs Samsung Galaxy S3
If you want to buy a new smartphone, but are torn between Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and LG’s Intuition for Verizon, we made a comparison for you. Here it is.
If you are the kind who loves smartphones with flashy designs, then stay away from LG’s Intuition. Its looks are definitely not as appealing as those on the Samsung Galaxy S3. Also, the Intuition model has a consistent width, which makes it very difficult to use with only one hand. The Galaxy S3 is also hard to use like that, but it’s got nothing on the LG Intuition phone.
The display battle
Which brings us to the next point of comparison: the touchscreen. The LG Intuition could have had a much better display than the 5″, 1024 x 768 pixels model it sports. Because of its 4:3 aspect ratio and 256 PPI ratio, the majority of pics, clips and applications will not look great. Then we have the touchscreen on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
This model has a 4.8″ Super AMOLED display; the amount of pixels its resolution is made of is 1280 x 720. The PPI is 306 and the aspect ratio is 16:9. Here is something that this smartphone does wrong: the screen does not employ the usual RGB matrix; it only comes with a technology called Prototypic five subpixel repeat cell geometry. But, compared to the display on the LG Intuition, the one on the Galaxy S3 is superior.
The operating system
In the battle of operating systems, both smartphones use a strong version, namely the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Still, many of today’s devices have already started to use the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. With that in mind, Samsung recently let everyone know that they are going to release an update this month. The operating system on LG’s Intuition went through changes because of the phone’s aspect ratio.
Which means that you will be greeted with different-looking interface and a new type of applications arrangement. Even so, prepare to see apps produced by others on this phone’s display. The Galaxy S3 also underwent several modifications once the Ice Cream Sandwich landed on it. These changes mean a different type of interface. The TouchWizz comes with a lot of intelligent applications included. The latter are, from what we noticed, the kind of intelligent capabilities which are meant to help a lot with navigation.
In the memory department, things are also different. The amount of RAM on the LG Intuition is 1GB. That means a so-and-so performance when it comes to speed and the amount of content you can store on it. Compared to it, the memory on the Galaxy S3 from rival Samsung is better since it’s made of 2GB. Which translates into superior speed. But that is also due to the fact that this smartphone boasts, besides the amount of RAM, a better SoC.
The processor
[sc name=”banner-jos”]
The kind of processor used by the Intuition is a 1.5GHz dual-core A9 Snapdragon SoC S3. Which is much more inferior to the 1.5GHz dual-core A9 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SoC used by the Galaxy S3. The graphics processor on the LG smartphone is the Adreno 220. The GPU that ships with the Galaxy S3 is also an Adreno, but the 225 one. So all in all, the CPU and the GPU on the Galaxy S3 are better.
These two smartphones come with LTE networking capabilities. Even so, that will not affect the quality of the batteries used on both device. So, where batteries are concerned, the LG Intuition has a 2080mAh version. It is no different than the 2100mAh one sported by the Galaxy S3, in the sense that they have the same quality: the phones they are inside are going to last 24 hours if used mildly. If used a lot, then they will survive half a day. So don’t fear, you won’t have to carry adapters every single time you go out.
The cameras
Should you plan on taking pics and shooting clips with either of these phones, let’s see what you are up against. The cam on the front of the LG Intuition is an 8-megapixel one. The one on the back is a 1.3-megapixel. Compared to that, the Galaxy S3 has a 1.9MP camera on its rear. But the front side has the same 8MP camera as the Intuition device. So when you want to see what model is the best ones at snapping pics, there’s really no difference between the two.
That was our take on the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the LG Intuition. Now it’s your turn to make up your mind and choose what model you feel is best for you.
