Upgrade Galaxy Fit GT-S5670 with Gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKT3 Official Firmware
Samsung Galaxy Fit GT-S5670 didn’t take long till someone came up with firmware that could update it with the new Value Pack DDKT3. Or more simply put: with Gingerbread 2.3.6.
The novelty of this instrument is that it deals with the bugs in the user interface and with the over-heating of the phone.
Requirements
After this short introduction, we should say something about the kind of pre-requisites that are needed for our tutorial here. So do the following: make a backup on your handset, install the phone’s USB drivers (don’t use KIES or ROM Manager for this), charge the battery that comes with it and that’s about all. Below you have all the necessary steps for a smooth update.
Important instructions
- For step one to function properly, you should do as follows: take your smartphone and switch it off.
- Now enter it in Recovery Mode for the second step; our advice to do that in a proper manner: hold down Home and Volume Up while at the same time turning the Galaxy FIT GT-S5670 on. Next you need to, after landing safely in the recovery mode, opt for these two: Clear cache and Factory reset/Wipe data.
- Step three will ask you the following: choose Reboot System Now. When the device reboots, you have to go to Settings, choose Applications, select Development and opt for USB debugging.
- Once the phone has that option turned on, you will need to download along with on your laptop for the fourth step.
- Step five requires the following operations: extract the files that are inside those archives to your computer, then launch Odin on it.
- Step number six is here to tell you to switch the handset off. Now enter it in Download Mode in the same way we mentioned before. Afterwards you will have to plug the handset to your laptop by way of the former’s USB cord. Now see if you notice an ID:COM icon go all Yellow; when you see it, it means that you need to click on OPS while in Odin tool.
- Step seven is going to tell you this: after you’ve clicked on OPS, you have to go to the Odin tool and click on One Package.
- Step eight: opt for a file with .tar.md5 termination.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step nine should consist of the following requirement: click on Start. Immediately after you do that, you will see that the firmware will be installed on your Galaxy FIT S5670. At the end of the flashing you have to look for the phone’s home screen. Once you see it, step ten will advise you to unplug the handset from your laptop and then to go to its “About phone“. When there, make sure to tap on Firmware Version. If you see the Gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKT3 in that place, then you needn’t worry about this tutorial going in the wrong direction.
However, you may run into problems. The S5670 may very well get frozen at starting. Or it can get into an infinite boot loop, a moment when the phone become unable to start.
If any of the above happens, you have to take the battery of your Galaxy Fit GT-S5670 out, put it inside again, then repeat our guide.
