Update Galaxy Young GT-S6310 to Android 4.1.2 XXAMI1 Firmware

There’s a particularly nice firmware you can update Galaxy Young GT-S6310 to Android 4.1.2 official firmware with. XXAMI1 is its name and it was released in October for Spain and in November for Poland. We will give you info on how to install it on your handset below.

Before we tell you how to upgrade your phone to the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS, you should know that the firmware we want to use will revoke your device’s root access and delete its system partition. And these are the only two disadvantages of an update.

The advantages are these: automatic adjustment for the size of widgets, pop up play, a fixed frame of 60 fps, sync and connect email updates, triple buffering, mini apps, touch anticipation and free style widget, extended vsync timing, Google Now, a new keyboard, group cast and all share.

After the stock firmware is flashed on your Galaxy Young GT-S6310, the internal / external SD cards and the smartphone’s important data won’t be damaged. The version released for Poland comes with an activated KIES logo, which means that you are allowed to upgrade your phone with Samsung’s KIES, too. The version for Spain, though, doesn’t come with an activated KIES logo, so you will only be allowed to update the handset via our tutorial or OTA (over the air). Your phone, however, must be running a custom ROM.

If you use this guide on a phone that is not the Galaxy Young GT-S6310 we told you about, your device will be bricked.

Requirements

The requirements we want you to follow now are attached below:

  • USB Debugging must be turned on;
  • we recommend you to keep the handset’s USB cable somewhere close;
  • install USB drivers available for your smartphone from here on your notebook;
  • charge the battery of the phone in case the unit is running low;
  • make a normal backup and a full NANDroid one;
  • disable, on your Galaxy Young GT-S6310 and then on laptop, the devices’ security programs;
  • Windows is the only operating system that must be pre-installed on your handset.Galaxy-Young-S6310

Instructions

After your smartphone has what it takes to receive the new firmware, you should follow the steps that will bring the new official firmware on the device.

  1. The step that starts all of this: download, on your laptop, the Android 4.1.2 XXAMI1 (the Spain version from and the Poland variant ) and Odin 3.07 from here.
  2. The files that these two packages come with should be unzipped afterwards; once the extraction is performed, you have to do the following: take your Galaxy Young GT-S6310 and make sure you enter it in Download Mode by simultaneously pressing + holding Volume Down and Power and then having patience till the icon for Samsung pops up.
  3. When you’re done and your handset is in the Download Mode, we need you to do this: open the Odin on the laptop as Admin.
  4. Right after that step, another one comes. This time, you need to use the handset’s USB cord so that the former is plugged to your laptop.
  5. The connection phase will start soon, so, after Odin finds your smartphone, it will display “Added!!” and then an ID:COM box that should be yellow. If the plugging doesn’t seem to be working well, you have to either use another USB port or flash the USB drivers for your phone once again.
  6. Then click on PDA, opt for a file with CODE in the name, tap Phone, opt for a file with MODEM in the name, click on CSC, choose a file which has CSC in its name, tap PIT and choose a file with a .pit extension. Then look around and you will notice, on the display, some boxes.
  7. They should be called Auto Reboot, Re-partition and F. Reset Time; check them all. Tap “Start” next, and the new firmware will slowly but surely end up on your phone.
  8. [sc name=”banner-jos”]And, soon after it does, you will see the phone restarting and then displaying “Pass“.
  9. To end the procedure, disconnect the devices and look for the XXAMI1 in your device’s About Phone (hint: it’s in the Settings section).

After you find it, give it a spin and see if it rises up to expectations. If it doesn’t, the NANDroid backup file will revoke the update process and restore the old ROM.
