Update Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi GT-P7503 to Android 3.2 ZCKL6 Official Firmware
Today’s guide will update Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi P7503 to Android 3.2 Honeycomb ZCKL6 by offering the steps which will help with the whole process. Then, after your device lands the new firmware, you will see what you’ve been missing when your tablet didn’t have the upgrade.
Your tablet has seen the light of day in June 2011 when it was officially launched. A Chinese variant was launched shortly after and the update firmware was released in December the same year.
The main feature that is included in the new Honeycomb 3.2, which doesn’t have its KIES activated, is “Pay as You Go” support for tablets running 3G and 4G.
A disabled KIES logo means that you cannot apply the update with this software courtesy of Samsung, only with our guide or with OTA (over the air) with the Software Update button under Settings menu or via our tutorial as long as you have a custom ROM pre-installed on your tablet.
If the Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7503 underwent a rooting, the system partition on it will suffer from the update and the root access shall be revoked. But the tablet’s data as well as its internal and external SD cards aren’t going to be affected by all of this.
Requirements
The way to go from here is easy: just do as you will be told during the upcoming steps and the update will be successful. First, though, let’s see the requirements below:
- go to your PC or laptop, open it and disable the security programs running on it;
- do the same for your tablet;
- enable USB Debugging;
- install from this page the USB drivers fit for the handset on your notebook or comp;
- charge your tablet’s battery;
- create a standard backup and a full NANDroid backup, using this tutorial;
- be sure to have Windows running on your PC or notebook.
Instructions
- If you are done with the previous requirements, make sure to start the guide by performing the following instructions: after you download Odin tool from this page and the on your laptop, you have to extract their content, too.
- At the end of the unzipping, boot the tablet in Download Mode by using this method: press and hold Volume Down and Power simultaneously.
- Once your tablet is in the Download Mode, you should make sure the Odin is launched before you do this: plug, with the tablet’s USB cord, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi GT-P7503 to the laptop and wait for confirmation; which will come in the form of “Added!!” message and a yellow ID:COM box. When the plugging isn’t established, you should try installing the USB drivers one more time or look for another USB port to use.
- After you are sure that the two devices are plugged to one another the right way, you need to continue with the next set of guidelines. The latter ask you to do this: click on PDA and make sure to opt for a file with CODE in the name; after that go to Phone, click on it and choose a file that has MODEM in the name. After you tap CSC you need to opt for a file with CSC in the name, tap PIT and choose a file with .pit as extension.
- You will then have to accomplish a couple of tasks more. The first: check F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and Re-partition. When all three of them have been checked, you should get the installation of the new firmware in motion by tapping “Start“.
- The tablet will then start to reboot; when it shows a message saying “Pass” in a green background, you are allowed to disconnect the tablet from your laptop (or PC) by taking the USB cord out.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]After there is no more connection between your gadgets, you need to enjoy the update firmware by first launching Settings on the tablet and then tapping About Tablet. Look for the Android 3.2 ZCKL6 in that place and then take it for a ride!
Should you not be pleased with the new firmware, we recommend you to revoke the update process via the NANDroid backup file. This will return your Samsung P7503 to its old ROM.
