Update Galaxy S4 I337M with Jelly Bean 4.2.2 VLUAMDJ Official Firmware
Canada Galaxy S4 I337M deserves a shot at happiness. By which we mean an updated operating system. VLUAMDJ is what it needs to have that.
Requirements
To update your smartphone, you should first take into account these requirements: charge the battery, use a Windows-running laptop (if the latter has either Mac or Linux on it, use CrossOver Utility), create a backup using this guide (backup the phone’s memory on a dedicated hard drive), turn on USB debugging, install USB drivers for the SGH-I337M on your comp and use the phone that is fully unlocked.
Concentrate, next, on the following steps.
Important instructions
- First one: download Odin tool and on the PC you have at home. After unzipping the zip files, you should see the following two files (among a multitude of others, of course): Odin 3.07.exe and .tar.md5.
- The second step will offer the following prompts: switch the handset off; now boot it in Download Mode by doing this: press + hold Home, Volume Up and Power at the same time. When the logo of Android is on the display, you’re in the Download Mode. So you can now run the Odin .exe as an Admin like this: use the right click method on odin.exe and, when the phone is in Context Menu, click on Run as administrator.
- Step three will need you to plug the S4 I337M to your notebook, then choose the following four files as shown below:
– click on PDA and opt for the file with CODE in its name;
– when done, click on Phone and you will have to select the file which has MODEM in its name;
– now click on CSC and opt for the file with CSC in its name;
– then click on PIT and choose the file labelled .pit.
If you are done with the above, switch to the fourth step in this list: select F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot if they aren’t already. Opt for Repartition in case you opted for the .pit file. Should you have seen none of the files we indicated in step three, no worries. - Just follow step four and then, when you’re done with it, move to the fifth step requiring you to hit Start.

- Step seven will tell you to wait for the process to end and then for the S4 I337M to reboot. When you spot PASS on the touchscreen, you will be prompted to unplug the phone from the PC for step eight.
Take a short walk to the smartphone’s Settings and then to its “About phone” address. The firmware we used for this tutorial should be featured there.
Once you have an updated handset, you can see what novelties it brings right away. But, if you experience problems, you should solve them with our indications. So, should you see that your I337M is either stuck in the booting stage, you need to do this: go to the Recovery Mode first. Then operate the following tasks: Factory Reset/Wipe Data and then Wipe Cache Partition. If you’ve finished: opt for the system restarting option.
