Update Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105 to Android 4.3 ZHUEMK3 Stock Firmware

Your Galaxy Note 2 LTE N7105 was officially released at the end of 2012. Since Android 4.3 ZHUEMK3 official firmware was launched this month, you should have it on your smartphone.Why? Because it’s simply great!

The way to achieve this great tool is by applying an update on your phone. And that is possible only if you live in Hong Kong, own the GT-N7105 and follow our guide. If your phone isn’t the model we mentioned, don’t follow this tutorial because you will end up bricking your device.

The KIES logo of this firmware is activated, therefore the only way to get the upgrade file is by using the OTA (with the Software Update button under Settings menu) solution or our tutorial should your handset sport a custom ROM.

The Jelly Bean 4.3 update your smartphone will feature at the end of this guide doesn’t come with the bugs which used to be present on the previous firmware. Also, the new firmware delivers a much better performance overall. Other than that, you get the usual Android 4.3 goodies.

Once your Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105 has been updated, its root access is going to be revoked and, as a consequence, you will see that the phone’s system partition will also suffer, aka it will be wiped. The device’s internal and external SD cards won’t be affected; the phone’s important data will stay where it is, too.

Requirements

We will now ask you to prepare for the update by applying the following requirements:

  • in case the charge level of your smartphone is low, you must fully charge your device asap;
  • enable, on the handset, USB Debugging;
  • this guide is only compatible with a laptop or computer which has Windows on it;
  • flash, on it, USB drivers that work only with your N7105;
  • don’t leave the USB cord of your handset out of your sight;
  • make a full NANDroid backup as well via this guide, not only a standard one;

Instructions

After each of these pre-requisites is performed, you need to download several files on your notebook.

  1. One of them is Odin tool (available here) and the other one is the . After they’re downloaded and saved on the laptop, you should proceed to their unzipping on the laptop’s very own desktop.
  2. Once the content of the two packages is there, we advise you to enter the phone in Download Mode by pressing and holding, at the same time, Volume Down + Home + Power.
  3. After you’ve launched the Odin o your notebook as Admin, you need to do this: use the handset’s USB cable to make sure your phone is connected to your laptop.
  4. There are two ways to know whether the connection was successful: an ID:COM box will appear in yellow and an “Added!!” message will also be displayed. In case the connection wasn’t established, it’s best to use another USB port this time or just re-install the USB drivers.
  5. However, if the plugging did happen, you can continue with our next step. This one tells you to begin by clicking on PDA, continuing by choosing a file with CODE in the name and then clicking on Phone instead. After that be sure to move on by selecting a file with MODEM in the name, tapping CSC, opting for a file with CSC in the name, tapping PIT and selecting a file that should have a .pit extension.
  6. You should go on by doing the following: choose some boxes that are called Auto Reboot, Re-partition and F. Reset Time. Then, once they’re activated, you should click on “Start” to help the update begin.
  7. [sc name=”banner-jos”]As soon as the following happens, you will be able to unplug the handset from the laptop: the device will restart and a message saying “Pass” will come on-screen. That should do it: your Galaxy Note 2 N7105 is updated to the Android 4.3 ZHUEMK3 stock firmware.

If the new firmware is not that amazing for you, you can get rid of it and restore the phone to the former ROM by using the NANDroid backup file which will revoke the update.
