Update Galaxy Music S6010 with XXUBME1 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware
Galaxy Music GT-S6010 is going to be updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in no time at all, because this post will give you insight in how to do that. We shall be using XXUBME1 for this guide. This is the kind of official firmware which brings many great things to your device. Some of them: longer battery life and improved speed.
Requirements
To experience the update without a glitch, you should just take a quick look at these pre-requisites: use the Galaxy Music S6010 which is bootloader and carrier unlocked, use a Windows-running laptop (or download and use CrossOver Utility should your PC run Mac or Linux), create backups via our instructions (the data that comes on the internal memory needs to be backed up to an external SD card), flash USB drivers for the device on your laptop, charge the battery and turn on USB debugging.
Instructions
- Your notebook should feature these files: Odin tool 3.07 and the (the file is labelled S6010XXUBME1_S6010OXABME1_BTU.zip). After you’ve unzipped each of these two, you need to find Odin3 v3.07.exe and .tar.md5.
- If they are on your laptop, you can power the smartphone off, then boot it in Download Mode. The latter action has to be performed by following these guidelines: press and simultaneously hold Home, Volume Up and Power, then let go of them when the logo of Android is displayed on the handset’s screen.
- To continue with our tutorial, you need to run the Odin 3.07.exe as Admin by right-clicking on odin.exe and follow that action by clicking on “Run as administrator” from the phone’s context menu.
- Once the smartphone is plugged to your laptop, you need to opt for various files by clicking on various keys; should your two devices not be connected to one another successfully, then try again by either installing the USB drivers once more or by using a different USB port. Generally, the plugging of the phone to your laptop will have gone well if you see “Added!!” and a COM port number whose color needs to be yellow.
- Coming back to what we said, let’s see what files and buttons you should choose and tap on next:
– once you tap on PDA, you need to opt for a file that has CODE in its name;
– as soon as you click on Phone, you have to choose a file with MODEM in its name;
– tap on CSC and select the file which comes with CSC in its name;
– click on PIT and opt for a file whose extension is .pit. - While you are still in the Odin window, you need to do the following: choose the boxes that read Repartition, F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot; the first of them should be chosen only if you opted for the .pit file, then click on START. This is going to make sure that the firmware for the update is installed on your Galaxy Music S6010.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]The device is going to reboot after the flashing is over. When it shows you PASS, you should make sure the phone is no longer in close contact with your notebook. If you go over to the handset’s “About phone“, you will see the Android 4.1.2 JB build XXUBME1 there.
You will, inevitably, run into problems while performing a guide, even if you may think otherwise. To take care of your handset when it’s blocked in boot animation, you need to do as follows:
– go to the Recovery Mode;
– perform Factory Reset/Wipe Data;
– perform Wipe Cache Partition.
When you are done with the above, opt for the phone’s restarting option.
Your Galaxy Music GT-S6010 is now free of that issue.
