Prerequisites

After you know what you’re getting into, there’s one more thing to consider. And that is the following: perform the rooting after your smartphone’s ready. To get it ready, do this:

  • use a smartphone’s whose battery unit is fully charged;
  • make several backups to save your phone’s data from harm during or after the rooting;
  • a full NANDroid backup has to be created;
  • USB Debugging must be enabled on the smartphone;
  • install USB drivers on your notebook for the HTC One X;
  • your notebook’s security programs have to be disabled;
  • your handset’s security programs must also be turned off;
  • use a laptop with Windows as an operating system.

Step by step instructions

When you’re done with these necessary pre-requisites, you should begin the rooting.

  1. For that, make sure a certain something is downloaded. What we mean is the SRSRoot software which you can get from a certain site. There’s a button at that address. Make sure you don’t go to another site and only click on the button we just indicated. After you do that, you have to install the software on your computer used for this procedure.
  2. As soon as the tool is part of your computer, open it there. When finished with this part, enable this option on your smartphone: Unknown Sources; if you don’t find it, it’s under the option called Settings. Then you must activate “USB debugging” on your phone.
  3. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Time to grab the handset’s USB cord and use it to create a connection between the smartphone and your notebook.
