Tutorial: Root Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6210 WiFi running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Firmware

Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6210 is just fresh from a tutorial which upgraded it to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with UBMH1 official firmware. The next thing that can be done from this moment on is to root the tablet.

By rooting your tablet, you will own a gadget that will cater to your every need in a vastly superior way. So, as soon as you are done with this guide, we advise you to look online for root-only applications, custom ROMs and various other great assets to land on your tablet. Be aware of the fact that the rooting will bring about the loss of the device’s warranty.

Requirements

For the time being, invest your time in these requirements:

  • charge the battery of the tablet;
  • create backups using the same guide as usual;
  • get USB drivers for the tablet on your laptop, from this place;
  • download (file name: CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip) and (file name: p6210-clockworkmod-6.0.2.7.zip) on your Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6210 WiFi;
  • turn on USB Debugging;
  • download, on your laptop and tablet, these files: Odin tool 3.07 on the first device and the CWM archive on the latter;
  • use the carrier and factory unlocked tablet.Galaxy-Tab-7.0-Plus-P6210

Instructions

  1. To root your gadget, you need to flash the custom recovery on your tablet. So do the following: unzip the ClockworkMod .zip archive and the Odin tool .rar files and then have the SuperSU .zip transferred to your tablet’s SD card root.
  2. After that is over, power the tablet off and make it reach Download Mode through these steps: press + hold Volume Down and Power simultaneously and, when you see Android’s logo on the screen, revert to pressing Volume Up.
  3. Turn to your notebook, go to the Odin tool and run it as Admin. Then have the tablet connected to your notebook with the USB cord of your Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus P6210 Wi-Fi.
  4. Now wait until the devices establish a much necessary connection, as displayed by a yellow ID:COM box and a message which should say “Added!!“. But if there is no connection anywhere in sight, you need to make it happen by changing tactics: you can try another USB port or install the USB drivers again.
  5. Once the tablet is plugged, at last, to your notebook, you can continue by clicking, in Odin, on “PDA”. Choose, for now, the recovery.tar.md5 file and disable these boxes if they are enabled: Re-partition and Auto Reboot.

Wait for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus GT-P6210 to restart and show you the Home display. Unplug the tablet from your notebook afterwards and then start the rooting of the device with the aid of SuperSU through the custom recovery image.
  7. First stop: restart your tablet into the CWM Recovery, then opt for the following: “Install zip from SD card” and “Choose zip from SD card“. Go to SuperSU .zip file, opt for “Yes” to confirm its flashing and wait till the right firmware is on your gadget.
  8. Go back to the Recovery Menu next. From that spot, opt for the restarting option and your tablet will end up rooted. To make sure that your tablet has been rooted for real on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 official firmware, get “Root Checker” from Google Play and flash it on your Samsung P6210. Then allow it to do its job.
