Nexus 7 featuring Android 4.3 Jelly Bean receives Bluetooth certification

Bluetooth Special Interest Group – better known as SIG – have announced that Google’s Nexus 7 with Android 4.3 on-board received the green light. In other words: the smartphone has been certified by them, so all’s cool.

The certification that the Nexus 7 received has May 27 as its issue date. Everyone who’s interested can go and see it on SIG’s official website. There have been many rumors of what kind of Android version this device would sport. So now people who want to have the tablet can see that it sports the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean instead of the 4.2.

The Nexus 7 might be a different version compared to the original model, though. The SIG site shows more details about it, so let’s take a look at what the gadget is called: build JWR11.

Which should indeed translate into the following: the device will not have Android 4.2 among its specifications. With that in mind, we shouldn’t forget that build JWR45B appeared a week ago and that made everyone doubt that the Nexus 7 cleared by SIG yesterday was the same model. But then again, the JWR11 may very well be a unit meant for testing; and it was probably thrown earlier into the world for the purpose of receiving a certification.

However, adding to the confusion is the fact that the model number of the device is the following: ASUS ME370T. The name is shared by the Nexus 7 itself, which might in fact signify a re-certification. We are bound to be let out of the confused state when the tablet is announced by its makers.

As for an official release date of the supposedly new Nexus 7 with Jelly Bean 4.3: your guess is as good as ours. Last we heard from rumors, the device could come out on the 10th of June. Again, Google will be the ones to let us know once and for all. So instead, let’s hope the device sports new and improved specs as well as features.
