Micromax Funbook Alpha Android Tablet available for Rs. 5999
Consumers over in India are being treated to a brand new gadget this year. Which many of them have been anticipating for a while. The name of the device: Micromax Funbook Alpha.
If you utter “Micromax”, you won’t see many people familiar with this name. And that is because it was founded in India. Where it is quite a famous brand of gadgets. And now, their recent Funbook Alpha tablet is making the rounds in shops across the country. It does not even cost a fortune: only Rs 5999.
This model is one of the company’s most approachable ones, according to the manufacturer’s representatives. In the sense that the user will supposedly have no problem using it to do whatever he wants with it. That was the main idea with which the Indian company designed this tablet. Which is always a very good plan considering that not every consumer is a tech savvy.
Apart from having an affordable price tag on its head, the Funbook Alpha offers quite an array of specs of features of great quality. And they are the following: a 7″ capacitive touchscreen, 800 x 480 pixels of resolution, a 1 GHz Cortex A13 CPU, 4 GB of internal memory, one camera on the front with 0.3MP, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 512 MB of RAM, storage capacity expandable to 32 GB and a 2800mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the Micromax Funbook Alpha sports a USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, 3G via dongle and Wi-Fi. The lack of Bluetooth will not sit well with consumers.

The color that this tablet ships in is grey. The touchscreen with its resolution allows for games and clips that can be watched in HD. Which is a very nice touch considering that this is a cheap gadget. The camera that is also on board means that the user will be able to keep close with his dear ones if he’s in another country via video chatting. And from what we hear, there won’t be smoothness issues to get upset over.
The battery is rumored to last for about 5 hours. But you won’t see any hardware keys on the Funbook Alpha.
