Huawei A199 revealed: 5-inch display, 1.5GHz CPU and dual SIM support
Huawei proudly announces the latest smartphone they’ve been working on: A199. The device is a 5-inch mid-range model.
Huawei is another manufacturer which has met with a lot of rumors in the past few months. Some of them turned out to be false in the end, while others became very much true. And we will talk about the latter, since the A199 will, indeed, be available to buy. If you go to Huawei’s official page, though, you won’t see info on what countries the new phone will see. But the handset will probably land in Chinese shops first.
The fact that the smartphone offers dual-SIM capabilities goes to show that it will more than likely be released in China before any other country. The company is yet to make an official announcement about the countries that will offer the A199 in the future.

With that in mind, the specifications that have been given so far about the phone are a 5-inch IPS touchscreen with 720p of resolution, a 1.5 GHz quad-core K3V2 CPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, a 2,150 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage (the smartphone will boast one microSD card slot, too, which offers a maximum of 32 GB). If you like taking photos with a smartphone, this model will deliver two cameras: an 8MP one on its back and a 1.3MP cam on the front). For connectivity matters you get Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
The A199 will come in a body that weighs 160 g, thus making it easy to carry around. Its thickness is 8.9 mm.
Huawei’s A199 comes after the manufacturer’s earlier Ascend D2 and Ascend Mate models. From the specs seen above, the new smartphone has plenty in common with the company’s own Ascend G710, which saw a U.S. release. Hopefully the A199 will share the same fate.
