Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie new features announced

It looks like someone announced the kind of features that the Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie sports.

Google has not yet confirmed the features that their Android 4.2 is going to ship with. So it’s best to not trust them too much until the company says they’re the real deal.

Without further ado, here they are: a stock video player that was redone so that it looks and works better, a customization program for the Android OS, a Play Store that was also fixed, better Google Now and a Project roadrunner. From what various rumors report, the latter feature offers an identical user experience as the Project Butter one. It is also rumored that Google will be introducing a better version of Google Now in the Android 4.2. According to the same rumors, the feature called Google Now offers in-app micro-transactions that are very simple to use, personalized search and can easily offer info about how to do this and how to do that. The Android customization center feature offers customized version of the OS. Which practically means that the user can modify the way the UI looks and feels.

Apart from these new features introduced by the Android 4.2 Key Lime Pie, the battery has also been made better, say the aforementioned rumors. Moreover, the Video player has been improved, too. It seems that this feature looks more appealing than ever before. The improvement we referred to means the following: brand new video services and a host of new APIs.

Apart from this good news, something else is being prepared for us. Which is a new Flagship Nexus. Most importantly, it will run on the Android 5 operating system that Google wants to launch next year. Something to really look forward to amidst the mass of fresh gadgets set to be released in 2012.

The novelty that the Flagship nexus is all about has to do with the following idea: manufacturers are going to be able to bring a new device to the market via the Nexus Banner. But they will have to deal with Google guidelines. The latter won’t be very permissive, though.

The date that the Android 4.2 is going to see the light of day is somewhere at the end of this month. At the same time as a new smartphone made by LG. But all of these are just rumors that are yet to be confirmed by Google. In all likelihood, the place that the Key Lime Pie was chosen to be unveiled seems to be a happening presented by Google in partnership with LG.
