How to Update Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C105A LTE to Android 4.2.2 UBUANA1

We are back, this time with UBUANA1 and how to flash it on Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C105A LTE. The model may be different, but the Android version you get is still 4.2.2.

UBUANA1 official firmware came out this month for Mexico (Telcel). From the start you should know that you cannot update the smartphone to the new ROM with KIES. The other method, different than ours, which works for the procedure is called OTA (or over-the-air). The OTA needs the following: a Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C105A LTE with a stock ROM. If you stick to our tutorial, your device will not need such a ROM.

The following will happen should your handset be rooted: the system partition is going to end up erased and root access shall be revoked. The update, however, won’t damage the internal/external SD cards, nor will it affect the important data. When you decide to perform the update, remember that only the Samsung SM-C105A is needed. If you install the new firmware on another smartphone, you will brick it.

An updated smartphone, particularly one which will have the Android 4.2.2 JB on-board, means several novelties. Before we mention them: you won’t see your device damaged by security problems. So here is what’s in store for you after the upgrade: an improved Bluetooth audio streaming, a new set of download notifications along with a USB debug white-list.

The other goodies are the following: low battery bug fixes, a new set of sounds for wireless charging and the option of long-pressing the WiFi Bluetooth icons in Quick Settings so that the user can quickly toggle the on/off state. Prerequisites

Requirements:

make some backups (a standard one and also a full NANDroid backup, generated with this detailed tutorial);
there are USB drivers for the handset which must be downloaded on your laptop from this page;
turn off the handset’s security software;
charge the smartphone fully;
disable the security programs on the notebook;
turn on USB Debugging;
use a comp or notebook running Windows.

Step by step instructions

For the first step, you need to find Odin and the (Telcel) online. The first is located on this page, while the latter can be found here. Both of these two packages must then be downloaded on your notebook, then saved on the latter. WinZip or 7Zip can be used to extract the two afterwards.
Make sure to use the following instructions in order to enter the Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C105A LTE in Download Mode: simultaneously press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power, do that till you see a boot screen, then press Volume Up.
The next thing to do: open, on your laptop, the Odin as an Admin.
Here’s the part where your handset must be plugged to your laptop. The tool to use here: the USB cord which comes along with the smartphone.
A connection will be created only if “Added!!” and a yellow ID:COM box are displayed. If they’re not, you can try a second time by using one of these methods: go to another USB port and use it or install the USB drivers on the laptop several times more.
In case the plugging was successful from your first try, then do as follows: tap BL, opt for a file with BL in the name, tap AP, choose a file with AP in the name, tap CP, choose a file with CP in its name, tap CSC, select a file which has CSC in the name, click on PIT and choose a file that should have an extension going by the name of.pit.
Wait until you come across several boxes. You will need to tap these: F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and Re-partition. This action should be followed by this one: click on “Start” and wait several minutes afterwards. That’s because the UBUANA1 will enter a flashing phase.
When this is complete, a rebooting of your SM-C105A will begin. The device will then deliver a message in a green background; this message is “Pass“.
