Update Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 to XXDME6 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware
Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 wants to also be a part of the smartphones which have received updates till now. In particular updates having to do with the latest Android 4.1.2 via official firmware. And for this we shall use XXDME6 made especially for this Samsung model.
The tool is meant for users of the Note 2 GT-N7100 who want a handset free of bug and battery problems.
Requirements
To better enjoy the XXDME6 and its benefits, you need to first consider the following:
- use a notebook running Windows (in case you have one with Mac or Linux pre-flashed, then it’s recommended you use CrossOver Utility);
- use the Galaxy Note 2 N7100 which is bootloader and carrier unlocked;
- make a backup via our instructions (while we’re here, you need to back up the data on the internal memory to an external SD card);
- flash USB drivers for the model on your comp;
- turn on USB debugging;
- charge the smartphone’s battery unit.
How to flash XXDME6 firmware on N7100
- We are now going to display the actions that will bring you the XXDME6 on your handset. Download Odin tool 3.07 and (file name: N7100XXDME6_N7100OXXDME2_BTU.zip) on your laptop and after that unzip them. You will next be required to switch the handset off.
- Once you’ve waited a few seconds, you can enter the device into Download Mode like this: press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power at the same time; as soon as the Android logo pops up, you need to press only Volume Up.
- The Odin tool 3.07.exe which is inside the Odin tool must be run as an Admin by right-clicking on odin.exe and then on “Run as administrator” from the phone’s context menu.
- The smartphone and the notebook have to be plugged to each other now. The task is successful if “Added!!” and a yellow COM port number is seen on the display; if they are not there, you need to flash the USB drivers again or use a different USB port.
- You will next have to click on PDA, then opt for a file with CODE in its name. Then click on Phone and choose a file with MODEM in its name. The next key that needs clicking on is CSC; after that you should opt for a file with CSC in its name. Lastly, click on PIT and choose a file with a .pit extension.
- Check only the following options next: F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and Re-partition (this last option has to be chosen only if you opted for the .pit file).
- The XXDME6 is now very easy to flash on your smartphone: tap on START and have patience. The firmware will afterwards end on your device very soon and when it does, you should wait for it to reboot.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]The display should show PASS plus a background in green; after you see both these signs, you need to disconnect the phone from the notebook. The Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 is finally sporting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean build XXDME6.
NOTE: To make the phone recover from a boot animation asap, it is advisable to go to the Recovery Mode and, while there, operate the following: Factory Reset/Wipe Data and then Wipe Cache Partition; if you are done, then opt for the phone’s restarting and the tutorial will officially be over.
