Telstra and Optus: 4G Samsung Galaxy S III preorders in Australia
People living in Australia will be treated to a surprise from Telstra and Optus. The two let it be known that they are going to offer Samsung’s newest Galaxy S III with 4Gin their country. Preorders have already started for all the impatient customers.
This piece of news can only be received with a lot of enthusiasm by people in Australia. Because the Galaxy S III 4G is a smartphone that kicked the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system away in favor of the latest 4.1 nicknamed Jelly Bean. According to Telstra, the new phone was scheduled for a release taking place next month. But then again, they would have faced competition from Apple. The American company plans on a release of their own of the much anticipated iPhone 5. So there would have been a clash of the titans. To avoid that, Samsung picked another date for the official release of this smartphone in Australia.
In the words of a Telstra representative, Australians who are really impatient can easily register on the company’s official Internet page for a preorder. There they will be offered all the necessary details on what to do next. And they are also going to find out more about the future launch. Like dates and such.
Since this is a smartphone supporting the much applauded 4G technology, consumers are very excited about it. Because the version that they are using now does not feature this option. Therefore, download speeds are not that fast. The Director of Telstra Mobile recently announced that over 100 metropolitan and regional areas will be able to benefit from a 4G coverage that will mean much faster download speeds among other goodies.

The specs and features that the Galaxy S III 4G ships with are many, as expected from the South Korean manufacturer. Below is a list of them.
This smartphone sports a 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, an 8MP cam (on the rear), a second cam (on the front) with 1.9MP and all the other additions that the model with 3G boasts.
But not only Telstra is going to offer the Galaxy S III 4G. Optus announced, not so long ago, that they will do the same. And they did. The company just launched a 4G network to accommodate the new version of the Galaxy SIII smartphone. This network covers the following cities in Australia: Newcastle, Perth and Sydney. More specifically in the Perth Airport, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, La Perouse, Dee Why, Lake Macquarie, Como, Bondi, Newington, Innaloo and City Beach areas. In 2 weeks starting from now, Melbourne will also be included on this list. These will be the areas that will be added: St Albans, Blackburn, Fawkner and Brighton. Optus has already opened preorders on their official page.
The Samsung Galaxy S III 4G is one of the most sought after smartphones this year.
