Samsung prepares for Galaxy S4 Zoom and Active debut

Samsung is on high horses these days. The manufacturer wants to debut two new models soon: Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4 Active. This comes as a result of the popularity that the Galaxy S4 has had ever since its release not too long ago.

The South Korean manufacturer has had these two new smartphones in its launch plans for quite a while now. Both devices are going to be launched soon according to BGR. The latter have reported that the Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 Zoom shall be unveiled during a press conference. The date of the event: June 20.

Samsung have said that the models are influenced by the company’s own Galaxy S4. But even if that’s the case, the fresh new smartphones come with different features nonetheless.

Let’s take the S4 Active for instance. This model was created so that you get to experience a version that can tackle water, dust and other problematic elements. So a rugged variant of the original Galaxy S4. Other than that, this model should be the perfect device for people who have to move a lot for their job or other reasons.

The specs that will wait for you after you get this handset should include a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, Adreno 320 GPU, 16 GB of internal storage, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, one back camera featuring 8 megapixels and one microSD card slot.

The operating system that will land with the Galaxy S4 Active may be Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the battery is expected to be 2,600 mAh. Here is what the phone could offer in terms of connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, an IR blaster and NFC. 4G LTE could also be available for this model.

Now for the Galaxy S4 Zoom. This smartphone is meant for people who love taking pics with a handset. The device has the following as far as specs go: a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 8 GB of storage space, a 1.6 GHz dual-core CPU, 540 x 960 pixels, a 1,900 mAh battery unit and a microSD card slot if you want more internal storage space.

One of the cams on this model is 1.9MP and it sits on the front, while the second one is 16MP and it’s located on the back; the latter sports a 10x optical zoom. As for connectivity, you will be offered A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0LE. This phone might not have 4G LTE.

Apart from the phones above, Samsung is still working on Galaxy Note 3.
