Root Nexus 7 on Android 4.2 JOP40C Jelly Bean
All of you who own Google’s newest Nexus 7, here’s how to root your gadget on the Android 4.2 JOP40C Jelly Bean.
Before digging deeper into the matter, we must first shed some light on what you need to do beforehand. Which is the following: grab your laptop/computer and keep it close at hand, start the USB debuggingon the Nexus 7, check to hake installed the appropriate USB drivers on your laptop, charge the device’s battery, unlock the tablet bootloader, perform a backup (or several) and that’s about all you must absolutely do before we show you the steps used for the rooting process.

Important instructions
- Start off by going to the Android Developers official Internet page.
- Once there, do what the second step tells you to do, which is: you’ll find there and install it on the tablet. Don’t forget the USB drivers. Then, on the Nexus 7, activate the USB Debugging mode.
- For step number three you need to get Fastboot.
- Step 4: once you download the latter, extract the archive in a folder called “android-sdk-windows\platform-tools”.
- The fifth step sounds like this: download archive.
- Then, for the next step, move the downloaded file to the tablet’s memory card and then turn the device off.
- Step number 7 goes in the following way: to the internal SD card.
- Afterwards, for step 8, move the Recovery Clockwork Touch file in the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder. Next, start the Fastboot Mode using the well known method: select at the same time the Power and Volume Down buttons, then wait to see the text.
- The ninth step instructs you to access the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]For step number 10 you have to, once in that directory, start the command line using this method: select the Right-click + Shift keys then select > Open Command Prompt. Then you have to enter the next command “fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.0-grouper.img”. When you are finished with this step, here’s the following one: select RECOVERY option when you will see the menu.
- Then, for the eleventh step, access the Recovery Mode, then select the Flash zip from SD card. Choose this option by pressing the key labeled Power. After that press this button once more.
- For step 12 you need to select the Choose zip from SD card option then select the CWM-SuperSU-v0.97 archive with the help of the volume buttons.
- Step 13: choose that file using the Power button and the confirmation in the end.
- Here comes step number 14. Once the installation of Jelly Bean JOP40C ends, do the following: direct yourself to “+++++Go Back”.
- Once there, you only need to perform one final step: restart the tablet using the Recovery Menu then the restart option.
