Take these goodies, for instance: many options that will customize your phone, root-only apps to flash on it, tweaks for a longer-lasting battery, new features, the possibility to underclock (or overclock) your device’s processor and GPU, the possibility to have access to your smartphone’s important system files, the use of MOD and so on.

However, once the Galaxy S3 I9300 is rooted, its warranty is going to get all void. But there’s a way to restore it: follow an unrooting tutorial tailored for your handset. Speaking of which: don’t root another phone with our guide; if you do, you will eventually brick it. Also, your smartphone must be running this firmware: Android 4.3 XWUGML4.

Step by step instructions

  1. Here is the very first step that begins our guide: once the two packages necessary for the procedure are saved on your notebook, time to unzip them both with WinRar or WinZip. The two most crucial resulting files should be these: Odin 3.09.exe and .tar.md5.
  2. When both of them appear, you need to turn the phone off, wait a bit, then enter the handset in Download Mode like this: press and simultaneously hold Volume Down, Home and Power till a screen of warning comes up, then press Volume Up to boot into the required mode. Once this happens, you should do the following: go to the Odin 3.09.exe and run it as Admin.
  3. Follow this up by plugging the phone to the laptop and wait until a yellow ID:COM box and “Added!” comes on-screen.
  4. When it doesn’t, you have to flash the USB drivers again on the notebook; or use a different USB port. When the connection has been established, you need to tap AP Button.
  5. When done, opt for CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5 file and after that activate these boxes: F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot.
  6. If you are done with these instructions, we recommend the following: begin the installation of the rooting file by looking for “Start” and then clicking on it. The process should take 10-15 minutes. When the installation is over, the handset is going to reboot.
  7. After it does that, you should be greeted by this message in green: “Pass“. You will then know that your Samsung I9300 and the laptop need to be unplugged from one another.
  8. [sc name=”banner-jos”]The smartphone should be rooted on Android 4.3 XWUGML4 stock firmware at this moment. If you’re unsure, use Root Checker. This app will tell you whether the rooting happened or not. You can download it from Google Play for free.

In case there’s trouble while rooting the device, you need to open the Internet on your Galaxy S3 I9300 and do this: upgrade your phone’s SuperSU binary and then launch it once more. When you’re done, disable the KNOW notification. No more issues from now on.
