Install XXUAMDM Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Official Firmware on Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505

Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505 is not as far away from receiving Android 4.2.2 as one might think. Here is why: we have a guide on how to update this phone to this type of OS with the help of firmware named XXUAMDM. This is the same official tool that will help you root the handset.

Important instructions

  1. Which tutorial starts with the following first step that asks you this: after you have downloaded the two files from before, you have to also extract the content of the first of them to the laptop. Then turn the Galaxy S4 I9505 off before you perform the second step.
  2. Which goes like this: enter the smartphone into Download Mode by pressing and simultaneously holding Home, Volume Down and Power; the logo that comes with Android will then appear on the screen (you should also spot a triangle to go with that logo). Press Power and the handset will be booted into Download Mode.
  3. Which brings us to the third step: return to your PC and launch Odin on it, then plug the phone to the laptop. After you see that an ID:COM logo becomes yellow and a number (the COM port) are on the display, your S4 LTE GT-I9505 and your comp are plugged to one another the right way.
  4. Which means that step number four is up next: opt for the files you will see below. Here they are:
    – click on PDA and a file called CODE will soon show up;
    – click on Phone and a file with MODEM in its name shall pop on the display;
    – click on CSC and wait for a file with CSC in its name to be displayed;
    – click on PIT and .pit is going to show up.

  6. Step six will come with the following requirements: click on Start, wait for the firmware to be flashed on your smartphone, then have patience till the Galaxy S4 I9505 shows signs of restarting.
  7. The home of the device should appear soon after the installation ends.
  8. Disconnect the GT-i9505 from the PC and get introduced to the great features exhibited by the Android 4.2.2.
