We dedicate this guide to the updating of your Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T211 WiFi version to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXAMGL official firmware.
The efficiency of our tutorial heavily depends on pre-requisites and steps, both of which have to be followed.
Requirements
We shall now show you the requirements:
- use a laptop that relies on Windows (if the device is pre-installed with either Mac or Linux, you have to download CrossOver Utility on it);
- charge the tablet’s battery;
- your Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T211 Wi-Fi variant needs to be bootloader as well as carrier unlocked;
- create backups via these instructions;
- make a NANDroid backup;
- flash USB drivers for this particular tablet on your notebook;
- turn on USB Debugging.
How to update Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to Android 4.1.2
After you are done completing the above pre-requisites, the door is open to the steps that ensure the timely updating of your tablet.
- First stop: the download of the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 T211XXAMGL official firmware ( / / / / / – the file has 736.6 MB) and Odin tool v3.07 on the notebook (via this link). Unzip each of the tools and power the gadget off when you are done.
- The device must next pass through these in order to boot into Download Mode: press and hold Volume Down and Power at the same and press Volume Up as soon as the Android logo makes an appearance.
- Odin tool v3.07.exe from the Odin package should run as Admin; it will do as such if you go with these steps: right-click odin.exe file and afterwards tap, from Context Menu, an option called “Run as administrator“.
- The T211 must next be plugged to the PC. Watch out for “Added” to pop up and for an ID:COM box with a yellow number. It is possible that you won’t see any of these indicators. If so, choose one of these options: re-install, on your comp, the USB drivers or use a USB port which is not the same as the one you used before.
- Then click on various keys which will make you choose several files as shown here: tap “PDA“, opt for a CODE file, tap “Phone“, choose a file with MODEM, click on “CSC“, select a file which has CSC in the name and finish off by tapping “PIT” and then opting for a .pit file. Don’t leave the Odin.
- Look around until you spot some boxes with various names next to them; now opt for the following 3: Re-partition, F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. The Re-partition works only with the .pit file; so choose this box if you selected that file.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]Locate “Start“, the key which will make the update firmware commence its installation process on to your Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T211.
- After the firmware is where it should be, your gadget is going to reboot; after a couple of seconds it will display “PASS”. Which has the following meaning: you are free to unplug the tablet from the PC. The place where the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXAMGL is located is your gadget’s “About Tablet“.
NOTE: What is the procedure to unstuck the tablet from boot animation? Here it is: enter Recovery, select “Factory reset/Wipe data” and then “wipe cache partition“; reboot the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T211.
If you haven’t encountered such a problem, then by all means experiment with your freshly updated device!
