HTC rumored to Release M4 with Alloy Chassis and Ultrapixel camera in June
The rumor mill is at it again. According to DigiTimes, upstream suppliers are of the opinion that HTC plans on launching a new smartphone this June.
The rumored name of this device is M4. The model is said to be a mid-range device with specs such as an Ultrapixel camera among many others. Rumor also has it that the phone will sport an alloy chassis. The so-called HTC M4 will reportedly compete with Samsung’s own mid-range smartphone called Galaxy S4 Mini that will come out this year.
DigiTimes say that the alloy chassis of the phone will be supplied by Catcher Technology. The latter is rumored to ship as many as 700,000 units starting this month and continuing throughout June.
The specs of the HTC M4 are said to be not as great as the ones sported by the HTC One. Here is what the next model will ship with according to BGR: a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 720p, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 as the phone’s user interface, 1.2 GHz snapdragon 400 CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and the Ultrapixel camera we mentioned not too long ago.

This sort of cam is also used by the manufacturer’s One smartphone. However, people who have already tested it weren’t too pleased with how it performed. But the rest of the specifications sound good, especially for a handset that is supposedly mid-range.
Still, you should take these details with a grain of salt since they come from DigiTimes who are known for making mistakes here and there in their reports.
While the HTC M4 becomes more than just a rumor, the Taiwanese company is focusing on their One phone right now and how well it can do on the market. Orders of this smartphone should reach 2.3-2.4 million units by the end of this year’s second quarter. Their First model has just received Facebook Home.
