How to Update Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3100 to Android 4.1.2 DDCNA3

If you’re in need of a way to update Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3100 to the newest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean variant, you’re in luck. We have just what you want in the shape of this tutorial!

This Samsung device was released two years ago in April. The firmware we prepared for the upgrade came out last month. This means that your tablet’s OS will go from an older OS to the most recent version with the newest official firmware available. Its name: DDCNA3.

India is the country most suited for the firmware above. With an activated KIES logo, the new official firmware is indicated for people who want an update done with KIES. We recommend using this method only on a device which already has stock ROM on it.

If your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3100 isn’t equipped with stock ROM and you’re not used to the KIES option, you can use our tutorial. Which strongly advises you to update the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3100 with our method instead of another tablet.

The novelties

The list of novelties delivered by the new OS are made of touch anticipation, a new keyboard and sync and connect email updates. If you think that’s all, read on: your tablet will sport Google Now, a fixed frame of 60 fps, mini apps and all share. But wait, the list isn’t over: extended Vsync timing, free style widget, automatic adjustment for the size of widgets and pop up play are also featured. The last two features: triple buffering and group cast.

Dealing with a rooted Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3100 has its disadvantage. That’s because the update will do this to the root access and system partition: revoke the former and erase the latter. It’s not all black, though: the important data, internal and external SD cards will all stay where they currently are.galaxy-tab-2-P3100

  • activate USB Debugging on the tablet;
  • the latter’s security programs must be disabled;
  • go to the tablet’s security programs and deactivate them, too;

Step by step instructions

  1. Begin by looking for Odin v3.09 and the . When you find each of these files, download them on your laptop, then unzip them. Use, for this, one of the following unzipping tools: WinRar or WinZip.
  2. The Odin v3.09 must be launched next, then do this: enter the tablet in Download Mode. This requires you to press and simultaneously hold Home, Power and Volume Down. As soon as the screen shows up with a boot message, you need to move on by pressing Volume Up.
  3. A plugging is now needed. The connection must be established between your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 SM-T311 and your notebook. To register a success with this, we recommend using the tablet’s own USB cable.
  4. The connection will need several minutes to be created, so wait. Have patience till the following happens: a blue sign will be displayed in the Odin. When you see it pop up, you can go to the next step.
  5. This one will need you to do as follows: after the plugging has been achieved, make sure that the firmware file is added to AP / PDA, then tick some very important files.
  6. These boxes are Auto Reboot, then F. Reset Time. The box called Re-partition may be checked from the factory. If it is, you must deactivate it quickly, then continue with the update.
  7. The next set of instructions requires the owner of the tablet to look around till “Start” is displayed. When this option appears, you have to tap it. How so? Well, that’s how the DDCNA3 can be installed on your Galaxy Tab 2 device.
  8. We recommend waiting for approximately 15 minutes from now. That’s how much the flashing needs before it can finally end. The gadget will only reboot after it displays “Pass“.
  9. [sc name=”banner-jos”]So, after the device automatically restarts, time to go and tap Settings. Now tap About Tablet and gain access to the new firmware on your Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3100.

By launching the DDCNA3 like this, you can see how it behaves on your tablet and if you like it. If the latter doesn’t happen, you have to use the NANDroid backup file. By restoring the old ROM on your gadget, the update procedure will be lost.
