Samsung Galaxy Note III to have a 5.9-inch display and 13MP camera
2013 will see a new phablet from South Korean manufacturer Samsung. The name of this addition to the series: Galaxy Note III.
With rumors of an upcoming Galaxy S4 upon us, God knows when, we should first concentrate on a fact that’s known for certain: Samsung is working on Note III. The Korea Times were the first to reveal this. According to them, the new gadget will offer a touchscreen of 5.9-inch; the latter shall come with Super AMOLED display technology. The company planned it so because of user request.
The processor that this version will sport is said to be an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa. Other specs haven’t been revealed yet. However, everyone expects the phablet to come with improved internal storage space as well as more generous RAM. Also, many hope that the Note III will ship with high-300 dpi density, a total of 2 GB of RAM, a 1080p full HD display and a camera offering 13 megapixels. Wacom digitiser input and an S-Pen stylus should also be included in the package.
According to the same source we mentioned earlier, the fact that the Note III will have a bigger touchscreen will not affect the device’s size. Instead, the body is going to feature a bezel-less design. The Korea Times goes on to say the following: the Note III is not going to offer a flexible screen, even if many users expected it. The reason for that, according to the same source, is that there are constraints coming from supply chains; the latter reveal a staggering demand that simply cannot be met should such technology be used.

Samsung’s plans of unleashing this gadget on the market is a direct result of competition between them and manufacturers such as Huawei and ZTE. The latter are already offering phablets with touchscreens that range from either 5.8″ to 6″ (even 6.1″).
And, according to an executive from one of Samsung’s parts suppliers, the South Korean company will concentrate on creating even bigger smartphones from now on.
It remains to be seen if this beast will be easy to handle and if its specs will reach expectations. Until then, we should say that the release date for this gadget will be somewhere in the second half of this year.
