Multi-User Facial Recognition patent, to be used by Google Android
Google Android is officially allowed to use a multi-user facial recognition patent on various gadgets from now on.
This is very important news, since the multi user facial recognition feature is very welcome on devices these days. Not only for security reasons, but for fun ones, too.
The first company to have mentioned such an innovative implementation was famous Apple. The latter wanted to use the multi-user facial recognition option on one of their tablets called iPad. It was said that it would be a feature that would make consumers happy and safe. Because via this feature, tablet and smartphone users gain access to their gadgets after their faces were recognized by this new technology. But in the end, that did not turn into reality.
The first to mention this feature and what it could do for the consumers were people over at AppleInsider. According to what they’ve been digging up about Apple, the American company made the feature’s patent as a way to offer users the possibility to take advantage of their gadgets in various ways.
It seems that Apple invested a lot of time and resources with the multiple users facial recognition technology, but the patent will be officially used by Google and their Android OS. They wanted to make sure that people had no problem using it. And to do that they turned it into an intuitive one, the best solution for their ambitious plans.

The team that thought of this new feature also wanted it to be employed by not only one, but many users instead. Moreover, the multi-user facial recognition technology means that the consumer will leave virtual sticky notes on his or her smartphone or tablet. These notes will then be recognized with the help of the gadget’s camera.
The various ways we mentioned earlier about being able to use this feature are the following. The owner of a tablet or a smartphone with Android will be able to use the settings, wallpapers and so on of their choice. After that is chosen, the gadget will recognize the user’s face and immediately spring to life. That way, many more users can easily share their device instead of only one.
However, as any new thing, the multi-user facial recognition feature may very well come with cons. Anything can make the feature go forward, for instance when presenting it with a photo of yourself. So it’s best to just play it safe for now and see what happens before getting all excited.
