How to Root Karbonn Smart A111
Smart A111 is a creation of Indian manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles. They are known for making smartphones that run Android. They are not as widely recognized as, say, Samsung or HTC, but they are quite successful in their homeland.
This time they are offering this handset that we mentioned; its target is made of people who cannot afford other (more expensive) phones. The specifications and features that the Karbonn Smart A111 sports are not that impressive, but they aren’t bad either. Here are the most important ones: a 5″ touchscreen, 512 MB of RAM and a 1.2 GHz CPU.
However, you will soon find out that this kind of processor is not that great, in the sense that you won’t be able to multitask or play more demanding game titles. That’s why a developer created a root method that applies only to this smartphone.
We tested it ourselves and concluded that it was just what this handset needed. After you root the Karbonn Smart A111, you will see great improvement in the performance.
Requirements
But before you are the judge of that, some pre-requisites should be added to our tutorial. Then you can proceed to the steps that are going to root this phone. Here are the said requirements: download, on your laptop, (attention: your laptop should use Windows), charge the battery of the handset and install the right USB drivers for it on your comp. Don’t forget to backup your phone, as usual.
As soon as the rooting is at an end, your warranty will leave the Karbonn Smart A111 smartphone. The most appropriate method to have it back: use our guide on how to unroot this model.
Our work here with the pre-requisites is done. Up next come the steps we discussed earlier. Be very careful when you read about them; if you don’t follow all five of them, the procedure won’t work.
Important instructions
- Here’s how step number one goes: once the SRSRoot is downloaded on your laptop, you need to make sure it’s on the device’s desktop. After checking that, do as follows: go to the phone’s Menu, opt for Settings, choose Developer options and check a box sitting close to an option called USB Debugging.
- For step number two you should, after enabling the previous option, turn on a second one; its name: Unknown sources; to do that, you need to go to Menu, select Settings, opt for Security and check Unknown sources. After you’re done with this, grab the USB cable of the Karbonn Smart A111 and use it to allow the two devices to be connected to each other.
- [sc name=”banner-jos”]Here is what the next step requires: use your mouse to perform a double-click on the SRSRoot file. Once this one is opened, you need to find a button named Root Device (Permanent) and click on it (it’s in the tool we just mentioned).
- Then you will have to do as follows: watch as the phone is being rooted. The last step, number five, will ask you to do one final operation, which is this: reboot the Smart A111 and watch as it surprises you with all sorts of possibilities!
