Update Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 to DXMD3 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6800 will have you consider an update to Android 4.1.2. Which can very well happen if you choose to use an official tool called DXMD3.

Requirements

If you like the idea of an updated tablet, particularly your Tab 7.7 P6800, then watch out for these requirements: flash USB drivers for your model on the PC you use daily, turn on USB debugging, use a PC that runs Windows (but that’s not compulsory, if its OS is Mac or Linux you can use CrossOver Utility), create a backup using our guide (include a backup of the tablet’s internal memory to a dedicated hard disk), use the Tab 7.7 P6800 that doesn’t depend on a carrier and whose bootloader is unlocked and charge the battery of the gadget.

Important instructions

  1. For step one, your tasks are the following: download the and Odin tool on your notebook. Extract the files that are inside each of these archives, then you should notice these files: .tar.md5 and Odin 3.07.exe. Power the tablet off afterwards.Galaxy-Tab-7.7-P6800
  2. Step two will look like this: The tablet will then need to be put into Download Mode; and that needs to happen by using the following method: press and hold Volume Up and Power; the logo that represents Android will appear shortly, a sign that the tablet is finally in the Download Mode.
  3. For step three you should run the Odin .exe as Admin by using the right click method on Odin.exe and after that clicking on “Run as administrator” from the context menu.
  4. Step four will have you plug the Tab 7.7 P6800 to your laptop; the plugging will go well only if you see “Added!!” coupled with a COM port number colored yellow; in case none of this is displayed, then use a different USB port or flash the USB drivers again.
  5. Here we are at step five: choose the files we will list below, but make sure you first tap on some buttons to see them appear on the tablet’s screen. Here is how:
    – click on PDA and opt for the file that sports CODE in its name;
    – click on Phone and choose the file with MODEM in its name;
    – click on CSC and afterwards select the file which arrives with CSC in its name;
    – click on PIT and opt for .pit.
  6. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step number six is in need of the following: activate F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. Check Repartition, too, but only if the file you chose above was the .pit one, then click on Start to make sure that the flashing of the update firmware commences. When you see that it’s over, you have to wait for the gadget to reboot. If it shows you “PASS” in the seventh step, you need to go and unplug the Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 from your laptop.

The moment you see that the tablet is not getting out of boot animation, you will be able to solve this by going to Recovery Mode, performing Factory reset/Wipe data followed by wipe cache partition. Then opt for the system restarting and your gadget will function normally once more.
