Update Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 to official CM 10.1 Nightly Build ROM

The tool we used for this is a custom ROM going by the name of CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly Build. We recommend this particular custom ROM because we didn’t experience bugs with it.

Requirements

Should you think your phone requires such an update, then don’t forget to check the usual set of pre-requisites needed for this kind of operation. Here they are: activate the USB debugging, save your important data, fully charge the battery of the handset, make NANDroid backup with the phone’s original stock ROM, have your smartphone rooted and see to it that there’s installed a custom recovery image via one of our tutorials.

How to Install CM 10.1 Nightly Build on Galaxy S3

  1. Step one of our tutorial: leave the file you downloaded as it is and get . Then plug your handset to your laptop and copy the two files you downloaded on the memory card of the Galaxy S3 I9300.
  2. Step 2: unplug the phone from the comp and switch the former off.
  3. Step three: start the handset into Recovery mode by performing the following operation: keep selected the buttons for Home, Volume Up and Power at the same time for about 5 seconds. Opt for Factory Reset/Wipe Data; now confirm the action. Next you should choose Install ZIP from SD card.
  4. For step number 4 you are asked to opt for Choose ZIP from SD card and afterwards locate the CM10.1 ROM zip.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step 5: validate the option that you wish to have it on your comp and then wait for the installation to finish. Opt for Choose ZIP from SD card. Look for the GApps zip and confirm the fact you want to see it installed. You will need to once more wait a bit and then get back to the phone’s CWM Recovery menu.
  6. Step six: choose Reboot System Now.
  7. Step 7: the phone will boot and, after it ends with that, a welcoming message will make its entrance.
  8. Step 8: enter the details of your Google account.

It’s highly likely that the installation won’t go well. If that happens, repeat all of the steps above, then flash all the files until the CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly Build is happily settled on your Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
