Rooting a device, be it a smartphone, a tablet or something entirely different, has long been a very exciting and useful thing to do. Because how else can we fully enjoy the benefits of a certain operating system, feature and so on? In this article we will tell you what the steps of rooting a Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0.

The operating system that Samsung’s Galaxy Player 5.0 used before receiving an Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread upgrade was the 2.2 Froyo version. If your device has not yet received that update, there is a solution to that in the form of something called ClockworkMod Recovery flash. This was thought of by someone on the XDA Developers forum, naturally. He made it so that owners of the Galaxy Player 5.0 YP-G70 could check out on the various improvements offered by the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread.

Requirements

To be able to enjoy them, one has to own this device (either the US or the international model). Then the owner needs to grab a file known as ClockworkMod Recovery TAR.

The ClockworkMod Recovery is the international variant (, 7.2 MB) and it can be downloaded online; the ClockworkMod Recovery (, 6.5 MB) is the variant for the US and it is available online, too. The next requirement is to download Odin3 v1.7 () and Superoneclick (, 1.81 MB) to a laptop. Which needs to run a Windows OS. Another element your comp should have: handset USB drivers. Do a backup. Then make sure to turn all the security solutions off. Finally, enable the USB debugging. And that’s a wrap on the requirements.Samsung-Galaxy-Player-5.0
