Guide: Root LG Optimus L7 II Dual P715 on Any Firmware

For the rooting of your LG Optimus L7 II Dual P715 you can use practically any firmware. Which is great and that’s what this guide is all about: how to root the phone via any sort of tool and get the best results. So keep close and you shall find out the secret.

Requirements

For you to fully enjoy your handset, meaning LG’s Optimus L7 II Dual, we recommend you to set your mind to these requirements: first check if your smartphone needs its battery fully charged (therefore charge it if it’s not 100% full), gather the data on the handset and make it into a backup to assure it’s not lost during the guide and end by enabling USB Debugging (from Settings choose More, then tap on Development Options and check mark the option you need). Be careful of the following: LG PC Suite should not be used when you wish to create backups.

How to root LG L7

  1. Have your LG Optimus L7 II Dual P715 with any firmware by following the below tutorial. This needs to start with the user of the device doing the following: and on the laptop you own, then flash USB Drivers for the phone on it.lg-optimus-l7-ii-dual-p715
  2. If you are done with this, you should choose the directory as KDZ_FW_UPD and msxml.msi. The handset needs to be powered off for the next part of our guide.
  3. Which means you have to boot the gadget in Emergency Mode by holding down Volume and after that inserting the smartphone’s USB cord; these will soon make sure the handset is in the mode it should be in.
  4. Now run the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe.
  5. Choose, next, some options going by the names of DIAG and then 3GQCT. Once the rooted firmware file is changed, you have to opt for it.
  6. Then, when done with the above, tap “Launch software update”. After a few minutes have passed, the LG Optimus L7 II Dual will be installed with the firmware needed for its rooting.
  7. After this process is finally over, the smartphone shall soon go into a phase where it is going to reboot on its own, so have patience once more until that begins to happen.
  8. The phone should be verified in case it didn’t root successfully; to see if that is the case, get an app called Root Checker, which is in Google Play Store. Use it on your phone and it will tell if it’s rooted or you have to repeat the tutorial instead.

NOTE: If you’ve done everything correctly, the tutorial will go well. But you can also end with an unrooted phone. However, you already know how to change that.

Say the smartphone is stuck in a “Welcome” message on its touchscreen; take care of that by performing these actions: turn the Optimus L7 II Dual P715 off by taking its battery unit out, after which you should insert it where it needs to be and just re-do the whole guide from beginning till its last step. Likewise, do the same as in this paragraph if your smartphone is stuck in a boot loop.

Now you’re all good to go, so fully enjoy your rooted P715 and tell us if something is wrong.

‘flash USB Drivers for the phone on it’… That is where I get lost, I have both files downloaded.

Is your phone recognized by computer? If the answer is “yes” you should don’t worry about this mention. If your PC doesn’t “see” the phone or doesn’t have the drivers for it, you should find the drivers and then you must flash them on your computer!
