Apart from that, you can also experience a performance which is so much better. The battery of your handset will also take a turn for the better, as will your penchant for custom ROMs. The latter will be very easy to get by and install on your smartphone after the update has been achieved.

For this and more, you will have to rely on the steps we have provided for you in our previous tutorial. You will get to install root-only apps, new features, also custom ROMs and so on.

Requirements

The requirements that apply to this rooting are these:

  • turn on USB Debugging;
  • make backups to store the content found on your smartphone;
  • download the newest Odin tool file from here along with the (file name: CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500.zip) on your comp or laptop;

Instructions

Once all of the items of the list above have been checked, you can start the rooting tutorial at once.

  1. What we ask from you for the first step is this: unzip the content of the CF-Root Package on your laptop, save it on the latter’s desktop and then power the handset off. In that state, boot it into Download Mode by pressing, simultaneously, Volume Down and Home while you switch the handset on.
  2. Then launch, on your notebook, the Odin. A successful connection will have been achieved once you see a yellow-colored ID:COM box and an “Added!!” message on the display; if that is totally not the case, then we ask you to do as follows: either use another USB port or install, again, the USB drivers. Then proceed with the rest of the guide.
  3. Which begins with this step: opt for the boxes with Repartition, F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot written over them. The first box will only be chosen if you saw a file with a .pit extension and opted for it.
  4. [sc name=”banner-jos”]For the next stage, do this: tap “Start“. The installation of the rooting file is going to start any second now. And, when it’s over, the phone shall restart and you will have to disconnect it from your laptop, then wait for the handset to switch itself on.
  5. After it displays the Home screen, you can power the device off and enter it in the Recovery Mode one more time. Go to the Recovery Menu of your Galaxy S4 I9500, opt for Factory Reset/Wipe Data and then restart your device. The phone will reboot into the CF-Root, so your handset will finally be rooted.
