Install SlimBean Build 6 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Custom ROM on Galaxy Nexus S 4G SPH-D720

Sprint Galaxy Nexus S 4G SPH-D720 will have no trouble updating their phone to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 via SlimBuild 6 custom firmware. And that’s because we have just the guide for your needs. Follow its steps and you will be able to experience all of the features that come with the update. Some of them: fixed NFC bugs, improved bluetooth MAP requests, updated DashClock and so on.

Requirements

Our tutorial will have you do as follows beforehand: turn on USB debugging on your smartphone, make a backup (or more; also backup the content of the internal memory to an external SD card), install USB drivers made for your phone on your computer, use the model that is fully unlocked and after that charge the battery if it truly needs that. Then find and (the file is also labelled SlimBean 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Build 6 ROM) together with on your laptop.

Instructions

  1. After the download is over, you have to plug the D720 to the notebook and transfer the two file zips from the comp to your handset’s SD card.   2. Power the Galaxy Nexus S 4G SPH-D720 off and enter it in Recovery Mode by pressing and holding together the following three keys: Volume Up, Volume Down and Power; as soon as the display begins to flash, let go of all of the buttons.

    – opt for Factory reset/Wipe data;
    – choose Yes;
    – wait a bit;
    – go to the Recovery Menu;
    – opt for Wipe Cache Partition;
    – wait some more;
    – select Wipe Dalvik Cache.
  4. Now comes the part where you need to choose the following options one after the other: Install zip from SD card and after that Choose zip from SD card.
  5. The SlimBean 4.2.2 Build 6 custom firmware archive will need to be flashed on your Samsung D720. So find it and opt for it with Power, after which you should confirm the flashing part. Have some patience till the zip file is on your smartphone, then install the Gapps archive by doing what you did for the previous zip file. Now both are on your handset and you can return to the Recovery Menu.
